>> Though their poop is overwhelming, << I guess you have no experience with horses. Or Rosie O'Donnell. ;D You can't keep Sara? A bunch of sweeties. When at a pet adoption at a pet store a lady got two kittens she rescued adopted she broke down in tears at parting with them. I finally found someone reliable to adopt two of my many rats, but it is hard to part with them. A lab fosterer thinks of it this way - if she keeps the 3-4 labs she always has that would be condemning to death the labs she could rescue in the future. Her purpose is to find them good homes in order to save them and others. Best to the buns.

Yes, I used to keep horse, and there poop is much easier to clean then 7 messy little bunnies in an area inside my home, those little round poops fly everywhere LOL Well I 'could' keep Sara, but then I would need to try and bond her with one of my pairs... not easy, probably impossible with Aniseed. She would need a friend, and i like Cookie & Lisa alot..... I'm still frantically lookign for work in this one horse town, so money is super tight (almost non existant) and Ryans not to fond of me taking on more animals right now. I am however thinking of 'maybe' seeing if there foster Mom would like me to foster two of them, we'll talk about it when I see her next week. And I agree with your friend, The more I can find loving homes for, them more I ca take away from a bad situation and not comdem them to death. It's hard to see them go for sure, but it's also a great feeling knowing they will be loved.

Try guinea pigs - they are not round and are soft and squishy. I mean the poops. When parting, just think of the new ones coming in who had no hope before you got them. her name is Sandee Nastase and she runs Long Island Labrador Retriever Rescue (yes, they have a website). I got to know her when dealing with my friend who had the lab and was killed by the SUV. I posted that story over 14 months ago. The lab, Charlie, is in Suffolk county, doing fine. My friend is buried with her favorite lab's ashes.

Everbody say "AWWWWWW!". I don;lt think this is possible with birds or reptiles, or even most rodents, but twith rabbits and GPs I can cuddle and stroke them so much they start me yawning, they are that relaxing. Like a big furry bottle of valium.

Ya they are. These babies too they will just sit around forever for pets, specially Sara. I have to admit bunnies are so soothing. I suffer from depression and have found my bunnies to really relax and make me happy. I even enjoy cleaning their litter boxes, there's not much about them i don't enjoy.

At least they have litter boxes - GPs can't be potty trained. But I love my GPs too, especially when they purr on my chest. Sorry you're depressed. What from? The news? Life in general?

I didn't know they can't be litter trained, never really thought about it. hhmm... maybe i don't want a guinea pig in the future I'm not depressed about anything in particular, I have a chemical imbalance in my brain causing me to not feel real great. It runs in my family. I have Clinical Depression, I also have an anxiety disorder and post trematic stress disorder too (that's a mouth full). Meds help but talking to professionals and learning ways to deal with it I find is the best tool to fight it. And of course Bunnies, bunnies cure everything LOL hehehehe

The only bunny I've known is my sister's years ago, but yes, she did have this way of relaxing those around her! Wish I had a scanner to show you a picture I have of her relaxing--she looks like a bunny pinup girl! Glad your bunnies are so therapeutic--particularly for you, Andrea. Mood disorders run in my family too. PTSD--did you serve in the military, by any chance? But your approach to it all is commendable--glad you have quality professionals in your area to turn to. Some may call themselves professionals, but they're hardly quality. (I'm thinking of doctors and therapists in the county in which I grew up.)

>> I didn't know they can't be litter trained, never really thought about it. hhmm... maybe i don't want a guinea pig in the future << Most people who kinow say it is very hard to potty train them. I say that keeping in mind my Poppy the rabbit never poops anywhere except where he is supposed to. Some of the GPs do not poop outside their habitat for a long period - 45 minutes or more. Others seem to save everything up for when they are loose (I guess they get nervous). I am just saying allowing the GPs to roam around the place will result in some mess, but apparently some rabbits also do that - but not Poppy. Just keep the GPs in the habitat before supervised play in a GP fenced in area covered in newspaper, if they are the kind prone to do that. I have had others, who were very tame, play all over me, and never even peed for at least half an hour. The GPs are sweet though.. >> I have a chemical imbalance in my brain causing me to not feel real great. It runs in my family. And of course Bunnies, bunnies cure everything LOL << I have sat down angry after a busy day, all agitated, grabbed a few GPs, or Poppy, and started cuddling them or petting them in my lap, or letting them investigate and nuzzle my ear, etc. In no time I start yawning and getting sleepy! Better than valium. The other critters relax me in diffent ways. The fancy mice for example are HILARIOUS to watch when I toss a sall broken Milk Bone in their tank - and they turn into piranha having a feeding frenzy. One tries to run with it and the others all chase him for the food, like a rugby scrum! ;D

Sara likes to flop down right against me, she's just to adorable, it will be hard to let her go for sure. We have many crappy 'professionals' here to, but since this is an ongoing thing and i have seen a ton of people, I'm pretty good at picking the ones who will help me over the ones who just want to drug me up and send me away. I still am real iffy when it comes to Psychiatrists, haven't met one who's not crazy yet LOL And though PTSD is common within people who've been in the military, I have not. I can't be around yelling and well i bet there would be alot in the military. DF - My Bunnies sometimes leave presents when they are out and about. Usually near the litter pans, they used to elave alot more when my house was all new to them. Lisa has a brown mark over top of her left eye, I name her Lisa after "Lisa Left-Eye-Lopez" from TLC .... lol
