So I put together my first little NIC 'condo' type thingy for Ani & Bo last night... I think Ani likes it Bo approves also, though i think he's enjoying the new carpet to dig and rip appart. When i tryed to clean it up Ani grunted and started lunging at me, so i pet her and gave bo a treat LOL... What's with bunnies and not liking to have their messesd cleaned up? Jack actually did the same thing, mello lazy Jack lunged at me when cleaning the carpet on his hutch! My hayrack Idea failed, so I had Ryan build me one (I knew i kept him around for some reason LOL) What a difference it's made allready! Usually these two just pull everything out all over the place eat it, and do their business all over it, making the floor of their house a mess. Though it looks like I'm going to need a slanted lid for it, I caught Bo INSIDE the rack eating and pooping aarrgghh.... bunnies. This is what I have had to do with Jack & Baby's house... cut it in half untill I can buy a HUGE sheet of coroplast to make one big tub on the bottom. They need to have an all litter pen since Baby uses everything as a litter box. And lets toss in one last picture of Bo... just because he's so darn cute!

I have those screen things. I got them at target for a GP habitat (see GP forum) with coroplast, but the size was too big and I could not put anything on top of it. So I was given a cage by a friend. Wonder If I could make something out of them using doormats for a floor. Just a play aread. But Poppym loves to hide under dark things; he squeezes in real tight! Great pictures. And the last one is very cute. Incredible habitat you have.

Wow these are some oldies.... I will post a few 'newer' pictures of the basement and the bunny homes. I buy the NIC panels at a few different places, Walmart, Costco, Liquidation World almost anywhere they sell 'home' stuff like bathroom and kitchen accessories will have them. Costco sells them once an a while and are the best deal. Half the Basement - PitStop's (Left) and Mittens & Kyoto's houses (right) Baby & Bubbas Place - Bo & Ani's Place -

I spent the past two days looking for those. Superstore, Zellers, Canadian Tire, Rona, Home Hardware, Home Depot, The Bargain Shop... None of those places had them. I'll have to go to the WalMart in the next town by the looks of it. And yes, I know those are old pictures. I was gleaning ideas...
I love the pictures. Your bunnies are spoiled!

More updates Everyone lives in one room now, excluding Whizz & Bruce. The old "gerbil room" is now empty and will be renovated this year into a spare room and place for our excersize equipment. And things will b changing here too soon, The cage Ani, Kyoto & Pitters are in will be gone, expanding Spencer & Suzy's a bit and adding more 'play room' space. And Bo & Ani's old cage will be renovated and the three Bunnies will move in there. Eventually where the Degus are situated now will be made into a bathrrom (which we despretly need) and where the bunnies area will become two rooms (bedrooms?) but that's a bit down the line.

Very cool! What do they listen to on the radio there? Or is it CD's? I have more shelves than you, piled high. The second photo shows that the rabbits are not concerned about being in the open. You ever have any smell issues? With your own place that is not a big deal? Ever have tiny but visible mites? I have a small number now with the rats, and today got some permethrin powder, which I wished to avoid. I have not used it in a year.

The radios mostly for me when i clean, and so we listen to the radio or to CD's LOL I don't need a lot of shelves anymore, not a lot of animals to hold, and I have a storage area for all my old tanks/cages etc. The rabbits love their free time out, it can be hard to get them back in their cages. It smells like hay, and unless I miss a little box/cage cleaning day it's not smelly. Baby & Bubas is the one have to be right on top of with cleans b/c Baby pee's everywhere. I've never had mites in my home, on any of my animals nothing (Knock on wood), we've never had fleas or any kind of parasite either, and they get play time outside. The dogs never had fleas nothing.

Lucky you with the parasites!
I try to freeze any food or hay when I can as I DID once see mites in a newly opened bag of alfalfa.

I buy Hay by the bale, so now per-packaged stuff, mauybe thats why? less handling? One bug I had issues with when i lived at home as a teen was grain moths, teh Pet Supply store I worked at woudl get them,a dn so they would go home with me in things i purchased, i HATE grain moths they can get into ANYTHING! and they are hard to kill. Everything has to be frozen or thrown out.

Love what you've done with the place and I wish I had that kind of room for the boys. They'd be so happy!

Maybe hay by the bale is fresher and does not hang around places where there are bugs.

The only problem I ever had with bugs in hay is if i leave it outside my own house first, those icky earwigs LOVE to live in/under it (EEEEEEEWWWWWWWW). If I leave it outside now first then i have it up off the ground and in the garage, cuz I am freaked out about those icky bugs and don't want them in my house.
