Hugh and Locutus slept together all the time in the other cage, either on the bottom floor, or upstairs in their hut.
Since moving them into the new cage with LOTS more floor space, shelves, and a couple of huts, they never sleep together. Sometimes one will sleep on the cage bottom, or in one of the 2 huts.
I removed a shelf today because it made it too awkward to clean. I was going to remove a hut too, to free up some space on the cage bottom, but that will leave them with the one hut. Should I keep the second one in there so they have a choice, or would removing it encourage them to start cuddling with each other again?

Oh I forgot to mention they also have a hammock. Hugh's just figured out what it's for, but Locutus hasn't yet! I place him in it and he leaves. Linda

Maybe they're checking out other areas to sleep in and once they've done that, they'll sleep with each other again. Other than that, I'm not sure. Hope that kind of helped.

Maybe because they now have a lot more space? Maybe now they feel less nervous as they have more room and donlt feel the need to huddle. They have not been aggressive have they?

Oh if only I had a dollar for every time I posted a question and the rats proved me wrong immediately after! Well, today, since having taken out one of the shelves, the rats have decided to share the igloo again!! LOL! Linda

Use a simple film camera, and when you hve it developed get a CD for digitial images. Most places that develop film offer a "two for one" - prints and a CD you can get digital images from.
