Found this guy at the pet store; he had been abandoned by some rotten humans, so his age is undetermined. He is very tame. His fur shines like silk, and is a lovely golden beige color, which may have a specific name - anyone got a hamster color chart?? He is the prettiest hamster I ever had, and he needs a name. Anyone? BTW, this thread with photos is here and not in Relaxing Rodents as this is a new hammie needing a name - and an introduction to you.

He's Beautiful! What a great looking Hamham, what is wrong with people, who could ever give up such a sweet heart. <shakes head> Maybe name him Copper? (Fox & The Hound movie) he's kind of a pretty copper colour. Or maybe a people name like Thomas, Peter or Otto

Copper is a good possibility. although he is not exactly copper, but close. Let's give some others a chance on this. . .
I am Thomas; a Peter I had and died, and I don't like palandromes! ;D

He is very pretty. Why don't you name him with some history names since you love that subject.

I'm curious, what is it he's walking on?

I look at him and think "Goldston" for some reason.
He is awfully pretty. Another's loss is your gain, DF.
I am also thinking "Lionel." Again, no particular reason.

"Lionel" is the name of a fairly well-known NYC radio host whom I can't stand! lol He is waking on millet and Zupreme finch pellets - that same nioght I rescued five finches AND got a HUGE finch cage replacing the bottom of this cage. I used it as it was approximately the same shade as the hamster - thus preventing the camera from over or underexposing the image based on a too light or too dark background. He is now in a third bird cage - bigger than the first one but smaller than the HUGE finch cage, with a wheel and wooden house. More on the finch rescue in Other Pets soon. With all the rescues (some gerbils too, plus the new rats), I have had little time to do ANYTHING!!

No. I am still waiting for suggestions.
"Copper" does not fit as he is not that color.
