Just thought I'd pop in on the "Fluff Stuff" I personally think it's a waste of money, and not 100% safe. Not only a choking hazard but it can also get wrapped around little toes and causing loss of blood cerculation. Now some hammies are better at not eating it then others, but I would say it's a HUGE no-no for gerbils. They chew and eat eveything.
Tissue is cheaper and you have less problems with it.
I use ceramic things as toys for my critters, like plant pots or oil scent warmers.

I go to those 99 cent stores and always find something of wood for them: I have found lady bug-shaped massagers with six wooden legs, and those foldable clothes hanger things, as two examples. The latter helps create tunnels for the gerbils.
