There are only a few pet stores like that, good thing you trust yours so much! The place seems very nice. Yes, Campbells is a type of dwarf just like the Robos and Chinese are. The only difference I know of the Campbells and Chinese are that: 1-the Chinese have a slightly longer tail and 2-they're more likely to live by themselves than being social. But yes, Robin is better as she's the expert with her cutie pie, Fuzz.

You are saying Chinese are dwarfs?? I thought they were considered separate, like bonobos are considered separate from chimps. Robin. . . calling Robin. . .

I was right: >> Chinese hamsters are not related to the social "dwarf" hamsters. The term "dwarf" is often used to refer solely to animals in the genus Phodopus, (the two types of Russian Dwarf Hamsters and Roborovskii Dwarf Hamsters). << >> They have quiet temperaments and are easily handled; one of their endearing traits is that of clinging to a finger with all four paws, rather like a harvest mouse on a corn stalk. Chinese hamsters can be quite nervous as youngsters but, once they are tame, display an endearing calmness and gentleness of character. << True, Robin? I have seen them once in pet stores. Just once. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_Hamster

You forgot that I told you in a PM that I would be in Pittsburgh/Ohio this past weekend. . . There are those on another forum, at pet stores, etc. that insist on calling Chinese "dwarfs." They are not, as you found. What your source writes is true. I haven't been home that long and can't write more now, but I will eventually.

I'll write tomorrow. I stayed home from graduation today after throwing up twice. It's not been a fun day. But graduation in the pouring rain wouldn't have been fun, either. Fuzz is not so great either.

Okay, so I think I get this...
Chinese are a separate type of hamster from a Syrian or a Dwarf. Campbells (is it Campbells or Campbelli's?) are a breed of dwarf. And Winter Whites and Robos are breeds of dwarf as well?

So my next question is how do I go about deciding which breed I want and then getting that particular breed?
