My mom says that as soon as we move to horse property, I'll have two rooms- a bedroom and a petroom. Problem is, at the moment, I only have 10 pets, and one of them(my horse, Aro) is too big for a room.;>

Like Hollie, there's only one tank to "organize" here. And right now it's being ignored *sniff*.
I too find the wheel noise soothing. Silent Spinners are not totally silent! ;D

>>one of them... is too big for a room<< I used to live on a farm, 3 horses 2 boarders, 4 dogs, 5 (fixed) barn cats. Well, technically I was helping there full time in the summer, but I slept in their house, ate their food, and the boys adopted me as their little sister. Anyways, one of the boarders was a yearling and a little Houdini. He got the gate open, walked into the garage, and had his head and a hoof up in the hallway when I found him! At one point we had two mini's in the garage, but that's the closest a horse ever came to being in the house.
>>I too find the wheel noise soothing. Silent Spinners are not totally silent!<< I love the sound the wheels make. (except for the one squeaky metal one) This morning I woke up to Darko trying to push his potty into the ramp. I put it back and now he's decided to make a nest in there (as well as in the corner behind the wheels so it barely moves) He's such a goofball.

Some metal wheels do need cooking oil as they squeak a lot, or I have to clear away bedding.
Silent Spinner wheels are mostly silent when the two parts of the wheel are cemented together tightly. heavier critters, such as hamsters, are prone to breaking them at the hub, though.

I connected the Habitrail to the Revolutions. The Outpost is still connected to the other side, like in the first picture. I have rearranged some things in the boy's cages as well. Darko got an igloo (I'm keeping my eye on it, the last hamster we had with one over stuffed it) and a bathroom. If it works out for Darko then I'll see about getting Meeks one.

Nice. tell us how it works out, and if he actually uses it all.

The only occupied cages right now are the bottom two. (Darko's in NP's old cage and Meeks is in the dwarf girl's old cage) I just connected the Habitrail and Crittertrail so that I wouldn't have to do it later. I will move Meeks into that once he's tame. Right now I'm liking the ability to fit the ball in through the top of the purple cage so he can crawl in. Darko is using the igloo and I've been checking it daily for condensation. He hates tubes so there's no point in putting him in the Habitrail. (last time I did he freaked out at me)
I'm hoping my other cages will have fosters *hint hint* (I put in my application with SARS and am in the waiting stage at the moment) but if not I will find good use for them.
I was talking with one of the managers at work and apparently she has some rodent cages she no longer wants and is giving to me. This conversation sparked after one of our regular customers came in with two of her rats. (She does this all the time, it freaks out the other girls that work there). Yes, our video store allows pets to come in. We mainly see dogs (we have cookies for them and a water dish outside) but in the past year I've seen an iguana, two garter snakes (of which made my coworker burst into tears and hide in the back), the rats, a ferret, a few kittens, and a half-wolf (which technically is a dog, but whatever).

(Darko's in NP's old cage and Meeks is in the dwarf girl's old cage) NP = Napoleon Pear! ;D Loved that name! RIP, little guy. Hey dezzi, what is Megs doing now? More school? Working--in biochemistry?

Megs is still doing the same old thing, going to school, working wherever. She gets her Doberman puppy in about a week, so she's pretty excited. She's planning on showing him. She gets one from this litter www.braebrook.com/Litters.htm and will be driving down to get him. She's not sure exactly what one she will have, but she's very excited. Hopefully will be coming up sometime this month to see me with her new pup!

>> two garter snakes (of which made my coworker burst into tears and hide in the back), << I assume then Megs is going to alter the tail and ears? I trust that is not painful. Why did she go for a Doby? Just wondering why people pick certain breeds.

Oh that's soo cool that Meghan is getting a dog! My co-worker also wants a doby, the puppies in those pictures are so cute! Does she know what she's naming the puppy? And good luck with the shows!
Tom--with any show dog cropping and docking are basically a must. If not, they're not entered unless it's a show that's not like the AKC or Crufts.

Yes, she's getting them altered. My boys have had their tails done, but Tucker has natural standing ears so he wouldn't have had to get them cropped. We didn't want to crop Peewee's ears because we thought he looked cute with them floppy and we aren't going to show them. I haven't done any research on the alteration, so I don't know what goes into it.
No idea why she picked a Doby. I can find out if you want.
As far as names go, I think she has some ideas but she doesn't know which puppy is hers yet, so she's still undecided.

Yep. That is why I said "I assume then. . .. ". I just want to be sure this procedure is not painful or akin to "declawing" in cats which is painful, is amputation, and should not be done. If I had time I would research it now, but I have no time. Someone else do it.

I have heard it's quite painful for dogs. But I'm guessing it's like any surgery that will hurt, but later it'll be fine.

weird, that they still do that over there.. In the netherlands it's against the law to get your dog docked. Even for show-dogs.
i'm happy it is, Tail-docking isn't even that painfull but the ears is a whole different story. Usually they will start docking the tail when the dog is only a few days old, and there are different ways to do it. But I'm very against it...I don't see the need for it, a dog isn't a barbie. You don't cut your kid's ears off because you think that looks 'better'?
Queeny(my cocker spaniel) has a long tail, her parents didn't. I have to say I like my dog better. she can show me her mood, wag her tail when she's happy and things like that.
And same goes for ears, Dog who still have there natural ears have far more facial expressions.
