Hi again! This is Tom, from the AGS board. Nice to see you here. Congrats to Henry, and the contest seems like a very useful way to help critters. A long-hair, I see. Two of my favorite, now deceased, hams were gorgeous long-hairs: the beloved Princess andf they almost as beloved Prince. (See my memorial gallery link below). When she died of a stroke, devastating me, she was 2 1/2 - I rescued her six months earlier on 3/2/03 after being left in a pet store in her CT2 by some awful people. The very next day after she died, that morning, I went to my small local pet store and saw - for the first and only time - a beautiful young banded sable long-hair who looked like her younger identical brother. It was spiritual! Prince lived a happy life here for a few years, and even fathered some hams after an escape! ;D Best to Henry. BTW, rescued hams can be jumpy, but normally well-treated hams who are healthy don't bite if treated correctly. Man, the more I look at his photos the more they remind me of Princess and Prince! Henry appears to be the same color, too.

Welcome, gerbilgal! Henry is lovely! That photo of him is very nice, indeed.
I am the Chinese hamster fan on the forum--Fuzz is my "son" (boyfriend's term for him).

Yes he is. He is my first hamster also. He gives all hamsters a good name. Never bitten me once. Maybe nibbled a couple of times when he clearly wanted down but thats it. I also own 7 wonderful gerbils.

Welcome BACK to RR. As I posted, he looks like Princess and Prince - two of my most beloved hams: sable long hairs, both long deceased. But the sweet memories, and their photos, live on. I think a Search will find their posts in the Hamster forum.

Condolences about Henry. We all lose them regularly, and it always hurts. We have them for brief periods only; enjoy them while you have them. I see the new ham, Fred, is very rare! (And very cute). >> His official hamster color is Longhaired Umbrous Golden Banded. << >> Fred might temporary go back to Holmden Hill for stud to continue his line. I know he is gong to produce a wonderful coat << Hope he has fun!
