Hi. Welcome to the forum.
Thanks for posting your gerbil crew. I never fed one of mine a banana.
You can see a lot of my (deceased) gerbs in the memorial gallery in my signature.

Sorry about your passed gerbs. Yup- when Ralph had a stroke another gerbil owner told me bananas help- so I give him one occasionally.

I have great memories of the gerbs who passed, especially Sam the Great. Read his story if you wish. he was also pied. Only gerb I ever had who as soon as I opened his tank jumped on me and just wanted to climb on me! It has been years, and I still miss him. As for health, now is the time of year I give all my critters blueberries--nothing more healthful for them, and it helps ward off strokes.

Thanks guys. Blueberry season is coming up here- I'll get ready to pick some for Ralph. Roofus is quite the little monster- whenever I let them loose in the bathtub he makes sure to climb up my arm and try to escape.

I just got back from a very very long day at Coney Island watching the pro volleyball tournament. Great fun. More in a different thread, later.
>> Blueberry season is coming up here <<
Here in NYC it has peaked. Prices were down to only $1.39 a pint at the beginning of July. This week they are mostly up to $2.49, although a few places still are at $1.99. I wish I had a freezer good enough and big enough to freeze a few dozen pints.
So where are you that blueberries are just peaking?

<<So where are you that blueberries are just peaking?>> I'm wayyyy up in northern Maine. Blueberries are ready to pick on August 1 I think.

Oh. I figured it was a colder climate. I got some more today, for the freezer. Still two dollars only.
Half a pint of blackberries was $1.49, which is not bad.
I hate the Summer, but at least produce prices are down.

And the sweat, and having to clean all my habitats a lot more often. Yesterday I was at the pro volleyball tournament on Coney Island. For nine hours! Great fun; great competition. I took 700 photos. Eventually you will see some. The finals are on NBC TV tomorrow at 2:30 (I think). www.avp.com - - - - - - - Saturday nights are kind of slow online; lots of people are out. I have too much work to do (critter related).

Cute photos!
I've frozen three pints of blueberries. I took one on vacation and tossed some into my oatmeal each morning. Yum.
Maine--I've climbed Baxter Peak of Katahdin and canoed Moosehead Lake. (all of this in a previous life, so to speak)

I have vacationed in MaIne, both along the coast (Kennebunkport) and driving back through the middle of the state from New Brunswick--loads of trees. Nice place in Summer. How is it in Winter??
I also saw "Carousel", the musical, set in Maine!

I like snow, but not that much! I hope your roads are kept open.
