I should have looked in this thread first! D'OH!! OK, he's fine. Operations. When my father had major stomach surgery they didn't operate at about 7 AM as usual; they started around noon - and I bleeped bricks all morning and into the afternoon. Glad Pyke is fine - remarkably so! When I had my hernia operation I had to hold in my stiches and stagger off to the can to take a leak that evening as (of course) no one came with a bottle. I could have walked out the door two days later, albeit carefully and slowly (no running in wheels). Does she also spay bunnies?? That is a good price for the operation. Wonder what the cost would be on that. If you could ask her, many thanks.

Thanks, Cal and DF.
Rabbits are her area of expertise, so I'm sure she spays them. I don't know when I'll be talking to her again, because Pyke is doing so well, so here's the number for you to call if you need to know now.
Dr. Lauren Stein, Ansonia Vets, (212) 496-2100.

I suppose you mean you may not be talking to her for awhile, hopefully a long while as no one will be ill.
I am not going to the Upper West Side with a rabbit, but I'll ask for recommendations of a rabbit vet in the Bay Ridge/Park Slope area of Brooklyn.
BTW, I gave Poppy a touch of banana, and she liked it. The hams didn't seem too excited by it though. (?).

I already asked her that question and answered it in another thread, entitled "Vets in Brooklyn". And Calvinator and I have both recommended a vet in Brooklyn, several times now. Having an animal undergo surgery is VERY stressful, and the last thing on my mind when calling a vet to find out if the pet is still alive is asking questions about vet recommendations for somebody else because they asked me to (in a thread about my animal going in for surgery), but I did it anyway. It doesn't seem like you are really listening to my answers either. Anyway, I hope you find a vet you like soon. I'm just writing all this because I love animals so much, and I want to be sure they all get the best veterinary care possible. Pyke's operation was a little stressful for me, but that's part of having a pet. Maybe we're all just cranky;) Mercury is retrograde, which affects communication

I'm so glad to hear that Pyke is ok. I hope he has a healthy speedy recovery.

Thanks, Dosergirl. He's doing well, and didn't have any recovery to speak of, because he was instantly up and running, better than before. He's been so good that his stitches are healing up nicely - he never even messed with them. Must have been those pain killers he was on

Sometimes it's just amazing how fast they recover.
