Related to the puli! >> All these similar dogs to each other, are small mutations of the mountain dogs. Quinólogo P.M.C. Toepoel is the founder of this race. During World War II it managed to wake up the interest by this race. << "It"?? What does "PMC" mean?? I think the sentences were written by someone with less than perfect knowledge of English. >> pronounced skapendoes << >> The coat is of any colour. << Really?! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SchapendoesInteresting.

This week is the tough looking Tosa Inu from Japan. I'll tell you what there are a lot of dogs that I wouldn't want to meet in a dark alleyway and the Tosa is one of them!! But they are known to be patience, a good watchdog, and affectionate. This is them here: www.dogbreedinfo.com/tosa.htm

A lot of people would not want to meet ME in a dark alley. >> The Tosa has been bred to be a very quiet dog because Japanese dog fighting rules required the dogs to fight silently. << Charming. Now I'm mad. >> will accept newcomers if properly introduced. << Taro meet Tom; Tom meet Taro. The dog has a kindly face and eyes, actually. What is the white dog behind her in the photo?

>> ^Looks like a Bull Terrier from the muzzle. They have those oddly shaped muzzles. <<
Oh yea. The dog had something in his mouth, I just noticed, and that threw me off.
>> Yugoslavian Mountain Hound, or I recently found out they're called now the Montenegrin Mountain Hound and no they aren't from Yugoslavia, but Serbia <<
Yugo. no longer exists, and Montenegro is not Serbia, although next to it. (?)
>> Montenegrin Mountain Hound From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (Redirected from Serbian mountain hound) <<
*shrugs*
>> The breed was first officially recognized on May 8, 1969 in Warsaw. American Rare Breed Association considers the breed endangered. <<
Uh oh.
>> Perhaps the most memorable popular depiction of the Montenegrin Mountain Hound (then called Yugoslavian Mountain Hound) had been as the hand puppet "Triumph, the Insult Comic Dog," regularly appearing on the NBC television show Late Night with Conan O'Brien. Although the puppet displays physical characteristics of the breed, and was identified as such during many appearances, the caption identifying Triumph as a Yugoslavian Mountain Hound was promptly removed after NATO military action ensued against former FR Yugoslavia. <<
Wow! I thought Triumph was a rotweiller! Interesting indeed.

I thought Triumph was a rottweiler! ^So did I. Even though this breed is recongized by the AKC it's still a bit rare as in no one ever sees it. So I will do the Australian Terrier this week and he's from Australia and is alert, brave, and stubborn. This is them here: www.dogbreedinfo.com/australianterrier.htm

>> They are loving, happy, outgoing dogs and are good with children.
It is important that when contacting a Basset Fauve De Bretagne breeder that you express health concern issues and ask the breeder what they are doing in order to help minimize them. <<
OK!
>> Since it's my mother's birthday <<
Happy Birthday to her. And salubrious wishes. By why is that relevant vis a vis what dog you choose to post here?
Coton de Tulear. Heard of them!
Never saw any on Globetrekker when they did a show from Madagascar.
Nice Coton photos on that site. What Ami is doing is what my cats do.
>> Full of tricks and surprises to fulfill his master's every wish. One of their most endearing traits is a tendency to jump and walk on their hind legs. <<
Photos!

By why is that relevant vis a vis what dog you choose to post here? ^Since it was my mother's b-day last week I wanted a cute dog in the avatar for that week. So since it I was on the C breeds, I chose Luke's breed. This week, even though they were accepted into the AKC, is the Dogue de Bordeaux (aka French Mastiff) and they're from France and are brave, calm, and friendly. This is them here: www.dogbreedinfo.com/doguedebordeax.htm

Them I know. The Temperament Test did list them as somewhat below average in behavior. Looking forward to the next Dog Show. . . six months away!! And the next Volleyball is ELEVEN months away! Although they have another tourney in CA next weekend.

New name to me. >> They are extremely sensitive to harsh words or discipline and respond best to soft reprimand. << Awwww. Sort of like us! >> Eurasiers rarely bark but if they do, they usually have a good reason. << Smart!
