Rescued two new gerbils a week ago today - Stella and Frances. They are named after two aunts of mine. they are young, and active. Their wheel is a SAM Lightning that is hanging from the mesh top - why you can't see it. Stella on the bottom.

Cuties--what's their story?
Aunt Francis spelled her name with an I (common spelling for a man) rather than an E (common spelling for a woman)?

Oh. I spelled the name wrong. Will change right now. Yea, Francis Marion, the Swamp Fox. Know him well. Pet store manager I know knew someone who had an unexpected litter and needed to make room by letting go a pair. Simple. I check various places and sites but see very few rodents available. See the Animal Rescue forum for a newer rodent rescue site. There is also Petfinder, Craigslist, etc. Besides word of mouth.

Not much of an update here. They are wrestling now beneath a SAM Lightning wheel. Doing fine. My other five gerbs (in two tanks) are fine, but they are due for a cleaning - this week. Aww, they are grooming each other now. I can see them from here. Stella is doing the grooming.

Stella passed away yesterday. I was going to take some photos. See Memorial Forum.
