Have you seen pictures of my Hammie Fred? He is a long haired Syrian hamster. I got him from a breeder locally but I really adopted him from the gerbil show in Nashua NH last May. Isn't he a cutie? ;D The last few picture are Fred playing in his new play pouch. I got in a craft swap. He loves it. It is now his favorite toy next to his ball when he comes out to play. He is such a sweet hamster. I had since he was 6 weeks old. Never bitten once. picasaweb.google.com/gerbilgal/FredTheHamster

Banded sable? That was the color of Princess and Prince, who have photos in my memorial gallery in my sig. Cute poking his head out of the Wodent Wheel. ? Looks like a CT1 with add on (need that extra room for a Syrian in a CT1), with a Habitrail water bottle stuck on. I do that myself with some Crittertrails. I always put a little weight on the Petting Zone, like a small book - it makes it darker 9as they like it) and it prevents the ham from popping it open, and that did once happen here! They can be strong and determined when they want to.

That CT was is home only the first night we had him. We had to come up with something quick as he was not a "planned" adoption. As you can see from the pictures, he is in a 20 gallon long with a toppper. Lots of room for a hammie like Fred. He loves it.

Same thing sort of happened to me today! After an exhausting busy day, I semi-rescued two female hamsters, sisters. They are about five weeks old, so they are small. Even now they squabble a little bit, but that may be as they are in unfamiliar surroundings in a small tank. I can barely stay awake right now, so tomorrow one will move to the CT2 which is about to be repaired; the other may go to a bigger tank or a 20 or bigger Sterilite bin. More on them later.
