Wouldn't the wooden floors make them a pain to clean and start to smell bad after awhile? I LOVE the idea, those are gorgeous.

I was thinking about that. . . the wood. Maybe it is coated or protected somehow.
Will inquire more, and if I find out more will post it.

i would certianly coat the wood, Myself and my Husband are getting some friends together to make a grade A rattie cag for our three boys! I will be sure to post up pic.s

OK then here is the answer I found there:

If you have a big housing for the mice cleaning is needed only every few months because there is much litter volume where they really enjoy digging. As the mice mostly have more than one level it is possible to close one level for cleaning without having to put the mice out. <<
