So I dropped off the temporary foster I had at their new adoptive home last night. Everything was hunky dory until today when I get a phone call. The poor thing had passed on. It seemed like the perfect situation and now they're pretty upset.
So RIP poor little hammy. Your life was too short and tragic. Have fun over the bridge.

I assume you trust the adoptive home enough so as to not to wonder about them. See a few of my most recent posts on sudden deaths, including a young female rat I saw with her three brothers one day, and the next day when I went to pick them up she had already died. I trust the guy I deal with there. Go figure. Yea, they are fragile, and ephemeral. Condolences.

Ouch, Dez, so sorry. I hope the people don't blame you for what's happened and that you told them it wasn't your fault. Will you be getting another hamster for them or how does something like that work? May the little guy rest in peace.

Oh, how sad. Rest peacefully, hammie.

We would usually offer them another ham, unfortunately we have no others up for adoption right now.

Well, one of those three young male rats I mentioned yesterday was found dead very early this morning. I told you the same thing happened to the sister. I hope the litter is not filled with some genetic issues. The other two were and seem to be fine. No symptoms or signs. He, and she, just died. Maybe that is what happened with yours. I did not even have a chance to name him. I will before he is buried. Which may not be soon owing to the weather - I need a long warm spell.
