I am well known for rescuing critters, so today I went into a local pet store. . . and came away with this little girl whom the store could not sell owing to the deformed right paw, which you can see. I am too soft-hearted! So when I visit a rescue group Saturday I will see if they have not one but TWO gerbs! Some of you may recall I once rescued a gerbil with no back legs, Stubby. Just do a Search and you will find his story on this site.

She's cute. Aww, poor girl. Isn't there anything to help her with her paw? Straighten it somehow, vet surgery? It looks like it hurts her.

Congratulations on the new addition, she's adorable! Animals do amazingly well with disabilities. I had a gerbil with 'lock paw' and there wasn't anything she couldn't do. I had onother with only 3 legs, she was one of my fastest gerbils. It's sad that most people don't want special needs animals, and they pet stores 'dispose' of them

That's what would have happened to her.
Now how about a name?

I gave you a list of names, so I'm not repeating them here now. There's also dogomania.com...awesome list with any animal name.

Later today I go off to get and rescue Hermione, hopefully a friend for Enjo.
"Hermione" comes from the character in the "Harry Potter" films and books.
