Leslie and brother Sam were born here years ago, and Sam is fine. But Leslie died long before his time, and it was the worst loss I ever had including Poppy and Princess. I cannot even talk about it. The next day I got Sam a new tankmate, Lester - big dust mop! He was always a little nervous, and I loved how he would grab his pellet bowl and pull it under and into his house, Sam reaching in! He seemed fine yesterday. Sam is older and lived in the same cage, of course, and he is fine. But Lester was found dead this afternoon. Sam is now in with Chris, who lost Frosty, and white GP, about a year ago. They sniffed each other and made GP noises but are fine. I may keep them together. I was way too busy to even think much on it. This latest death necessitates an expedition to the cemetery, long overdue, for a burial. It is a big task, but the weather is cooling and humidity dropping. Don't know what happened, Lester. Frosty suddenly died too, no symptoms. Thanks for the fun times. RIP.

Farewell, Lester. Rest peacefully.
Hope you're ok, DF. The unanticipated losses must be hard.

Thanks. I am not looking forward to the burial. It is a lot of effort and rather sad. So are the empty tanks and cages. I will miss brushing the hair out of Lester's face so I could see him!

Been crazy busy including this past weekend. I have posted photo galleries on my doings. Seeing a suddenly dead critter adds to the fatigue. I am not looking forward to the burial, and I do not like the sight of empty cages. Thankfully, Sam is OK, he the beloved brother of the even more beloved late Leslie. Sam is in with Chris, they are fine, and they will be watched closely. Time flies. Busy as hell. . . how about the Black Hawks vs Flyers?!
