Bob Sheppard and The Boss, George Steinbrenner. More on them later. These were biggies with the New York Yankees.

There were many things he did I hated: Firing Yogi and Dick Howser; mercurial moves and wasted money; petty nonsense such as taking dental care from his workers; putting the Yankees on cable; tearing down real Yankee Stadium; twice suspended from Baseball, etc. Not to mention a collapse of the team from '89-'91. But overall, he was positive, and ... See Morenot just as he built the Yankees to success and power, on the field and off. He did do charitable things. Most of all, he was part of the most entertaining team ever the Yankees of the mid Seventies through the Eighties, esp. when Reggie and Billy were there. I always will remember LA in '81 when he showed up during the World Series with a cast on his hand. two guys supposedly attacked him in the elevator, and "I clocked them"! Good-bye Boss. It was overall better with you here. RIP. A few days ago Bob Sheppard died. He was the legendary and highly respected Yankee Public Address announcer from 1951 to a few years ago! He was 99.
