New York Jets and Joe Namath won the Super Bowl, in Miami's Orange Bowl. A major event in sports history.

Why is it a major event in sports history? The only thing I know about Miami's Orange Bowl is that as a child Gloria Estefan lived directly behind the Orange Bowl in a run down shack of a house and kept warm by sleeping under news papers. She is a wonderfully nice lady.

The Jets' huge upset win over the Colts in the third Super Bowl is acknowledged to be one of the great upsets in sports. I actually do not agree with that as I think the Jets were much better than people gave them credit for.
It also paved the way for the union of the NFL and AFL, which was to everyone's benefit, fans and owners.
Look it up.

I predicted that you would tell me to look it up. You tell me that alot. I am on this site for interaction with people that I can call my friends, not to bounce from page to page looking for information on the cold heartless web. But thank you for the information that you took the time to give. I didn't know that had anything to do with the starting ideas of the NFL and AFL. Saturday the Pittsburgh Steelers are playing the Baltimore Ravens at 4PM. The terrible towels will be waving.

I do not have the time to summarize a major story you seem to know nothing about that would take me half an hour or more to recount. I also told you what happened; if you wanted still more information I said you could look it up. If you had a question I would have answered it. I did tell you why it was so big in its day, and still is. Pasting in Wikipedia articles I can do, although it seems pointless.
Estefan in this football context is a reference from left field, although I recall a number of times defending her from my father who made cracks about the way she dressed and danced. I told him there was never the slightest hint of any scandal about her, not ever! And she does still seem like a nice person, not one of the usual Hollywood/Entertainment low lifes. I think she went to Catholic school, and the nuns were surprised at her on stage signing and dancing she had been so quiet in school. So, I think she is a good person.
Super Bowl III remains the biggest upset ever in football to most people. Although the Giants' Super Bowl win over the undefeated patriots three years ago was very big, too. I went to their victory parade!
Check out this link! The Empire State Building in Green and White last night for the Jets! Beautiful.
