Do any of you dream about your late hamsters? Once in awhile I will dream about Harriet, Theo, Benny, Sophie, and Chewie (not all at once, but sometimes all five are together). They are happy dreams. I have them again and take care of them, play with them, and introduce them to other hamsters. I always make sure to play with them. Then I'll wake up, but I always feel good to know that I had those special little guys and will always love them. I feel sometimes that they're visiting me in my sleep. I will end there as I'm starting to fill up; I will always love them. So...do you dream about your late (or recent) hamsters?

Once in a great while I have dreamed about a deceased hamster. Other times I have dreamed about some random hamster or hamsters. However, I will say that having read this post last night made me dream that Ping escaped and I was chasing him all around my apartment! What was nice was that in the end he came to me and I just plopped him back in the cage! No one can take our memories of our critters from us. I am glad that yours warm your heart even though you no longer have hamsters. Mine certainly warm mine. Hard to believe that I have seven Rainbow Hamsters now. They were all so unique and so loved.

Ut oh, sorry you had to have that dream of Ping escaping! But at least you got him back, I bet you checked his cage when you woke up!
Yes, it is nice to have those dreams once in awhile. I do know one day (whenever I have kids) I will have hamsters again. That I do know for a fact; just like for a fact I knew I'd have a hamster named Sophie and I did.
Were those random hamsters cute? Or do you remember if they had names?
Yes, hamsters are unique and so very loved!

Yes, more adults with hamsters! This is what our world needs! :-)
The random hamsters--I don't really remember. I do know that sometimes they've been hurt or have died, so not all dreams were good ones. But I don't view them as reflecting hidden feelings or predicting the future. They're just dreams, though they can be interesting.

Yes, dreams are interesting. Sorry you had some sad ones. I saw one lady on Animal Planet, I believe, and she rescued all sorts of hamsters and gave them to homes and she was, maybe in her late thirties. I think adults like hamsters, we just hear more about kids getting them. And real quickly about dreams, I don't know why people have to interpret them. I mean I get when someone says, "I wonder what that meant", but really we need someone to, professionally, write a book about what this or that dream meant?

Yes, I dream about my hamsters, including the hamsters I had as a kid.
The one I dream about most often is Porco Bruno. He was mildly brain-damaged. You could say he took more work to socialize than any other hamster I've had, but that would make it sound like a finite process, which it wasn't. I was always having to figure out new work-arounds to deal with his incurable weirdness. Somehow, in the midst of all that constant negotiation and accommodation, PB and I became good friends. He died far too young.
I guess it stands to reason that I'd dream about a critter with whom I had so much unfinished business.
In my dreams, we're hanging out together the way we used to early in the morning, with him keeping up a running commentary of companionable chirps and squeaks while he collects the food caches I've left out for him. At the same time, I'm edgily aware that at any moment he may feel moved to fling himself over the nearest precipice, or take off running northward at top speed, and I'll have to scramble like a major league outfielder to catch him.
There's no plot. It's just a slice of life with Porco Bruno.

I remember reading about Porco Bruno on another forum. He was, as I recall, an unusually vocal hamster! Maybe this comes to mind because I had explained to my dad's wife about an hour ago that as hamsters are generally silent if one makes noise it's something to investigate.
