Yesterday was too cold, but it warmed up today so I got a new rat - all white, male. Pete, or Petey.
I got a female a week ago, hooded white, but she sadly died 3 1/2 days later. No symptoms - just suddenly some odd respiration and lethargy. Found her dead in the same place, on top of a big rat house, the next morning. I told the people in the store it must be a genetic issue, so complain to the breeder. We hope for better with Pete.
He is in with Guggenheim and Jiggs, last survivor of three brothers including a great favorite, the very tame Greystoke (a grey hooded).
I also have two females together, separately.

Congrats!
Does "he" have a name?
Maybe post pics of all your rodent-type critters sometime? (since your menagerie has largely turned over since you've been away)

A name? I told you the name at the top of the post.
The two gerbs have been here for at least a few years. The spiny's more. Still have a few regular mice, one an old guy who must be over three.
I will try to get to all types photos soon. . . I;lve al;ready posted tons in the Photo forum, but not of critters.
Monday and Tuesday - dog show. Going to be a couple of long days! But good ones.

Oh, geez, yeah, you did. I looked at "New rat today" and didn't see a name there, so. . .
Enjoy the show!

I posted on the Dog Show. And on my latest dead rat, Jiggs. Dog Show photos soon. Time to catch up on sleep. . . Been a busy few days 14-15 days there at MSG each day, plus about 2 1/2 hours transit time total.

Well, despite the recent difficulties I described Pete is fine. Am looking for new fancy rats and mice - and am trying these guys for breeders: www.afrma.org/
