Hard to believe. Never thought I'd see them again. As I posted last week, they were coming back, and several hours ago they were delivered with much advice from their former foster mom who will miss them. I will relate their doings in due course. . . I have to figure out which one is which: one had a slightly lighter fur, and one had a slightly more timid personality. Here is the link to their latest photos!

I got a carpet for them today, 4x6 feet. Dark blue. It will be covered by a blanket as the carpet itself is not good for their legs. The cats especially like the rug.
I added in a bigger litter pan. The smaller one they do no pee in but sit in; it's clean.
I also got simethicone, for any gas emergencies.

Most interesting is that Asia is significantly bigger (fatter?) than a thin Becca. They are very easily to identify: Asia also has lighter fur and a broader head. Asia and Becca seemed the same weight when they left ten months ago. Odd.
Becca also is more active when outside the cage.

Tom, I have relationships with two rabbit rescues these days because Ping and Mable came from these facilities. If you ever need rabbit advice I could certainly throw your questions out to them. I'm no help, after all--I'm only the crazy hamster lady!

The obvious questions is how in ten months did two sisters of the same size change so that one looks fatter and the other noticeably thinner?

So Asia is on the left in the photos where both are visible? Yes, in that one shot the difference is quite remarkable!
What comes to mind is a concern that one or the other has a malady that has caused her to gain/lose weight. Perhaps something will reveal itself as you feed them and observe their habits. I always think first of teeth. How easy is it to check a rabbit's teeth?

Asia is the bigger one with slightly lighter fur and a broader head. It is quite noticeable. More and better photos later.
The person I just got them from was very meticulous and careful; solicitous in the extreme for the rabbits, and knowledgeable. Can't believe she'd let something like that go by, and Becca seems alright, when she eats. I have two veggie bowls now - one on top and one on the bottom.

See the new photos in the link directly above.
The cats have already learned to stay OUT of the penned area. The rabbits are more confident coming out and exploring to find veggies in the boxes in that area. A photo of that soon.

Update. They remain timid. Always will be I suppose. Asia is either more timid or not as smart as Becca who roams around more when I let them. The pen is problematic as they can jump out of it, and back in! They've never gnawed wires, but it worries me. So I supervise. They are fine with the cats.
They do not like dandelion or chicory. Love kale and parsely.

My bunch loves kale too. I fed Mable lots of it pre-surgery for the vitamin K that'd help her clot.

I have left some wooden chew things in their cage and they Do make use of them, which is good to see. They seem to love kale most of all, btw.

Asia and Becca have gotten way more calm and confident OUTSIDE the duplex condo. They lay around the floor and often come up to me when I say "Bunny food!" So, progress. . .

They're outside of their pens? I hope you litter trained them then! Also, how are your birds and cats with them?
