My breeding female Mai had her first litter about 13 days ago. Only two pups. luckily my other breeding female has had litters this small before so I'm expirenced with small litters. The male pup is a spotted Agouti and the female is a gorgeous Spotted Light Colorpoint Gray Agouti. Here are the pics: Both pups Spotted Agouti Male Spotted Lt. CP Gray Agouti Female Both again

I keep forgetting how small rodents are at birth. They are cute little fellows.

Maybe, but baby hamsters stagger around looking drunk more and that is funny.

Baby songbirds are pretty unattractive till they get feathers--and much as I love cardinals, the juveniles are still homely even after becoming feathered. It takes time for them to grow into their eye sockets! And they're very noisy!

Speaking of cardinals, and I will photo this later, one of the Saks Holiday windows (not the main ones) featured dozens of cardinals (not real, fabricated) - and not one was a female. At the NY Botanic Garden on January I spotted a male cardinal sitting against a snow-covered holly bush. I got a nice photo; it was like a Christmas card.

Nice to see that someone else has noticed the gender bias in the portrayal of Cardinalis cardinalis. . . . sorry, world--I think the female is the gorgeous one!
When I see greeting cards, clothing, etc. with multiple male cardinals on it and no females I think, "That is NOT reality!" Male cardinals don't get together with their buddies!
