Snug Harbor is an old sailors' home in Staten Island, NY. The Noble Maritime Museum is part of this lovely place, and it includes a breathtaking collection of model ships, all historical, and some famous. www.snug-harbor.org/www.noblemaritime.org/And they have a new Titanic exhibit that just opened: www.noblemaritime.org/titanic.htmlHere are the photos I took of the amazing ship models. The most famous are the HMS VICTORY (Admiral Nelson's flagship at Trafalgar), the USS Bonhomme Richard (John Paul Jones' flagship in the famous battle against the Serapis), and the USS Hartford, a sloop of the USN in the Civil War and Adm Farragut's flagship at the Battle of Mobile Bay. The details are extraordinary. LINK RIGHT HERE

Speaking of the Titanic. this is the memorial at Woodlawn Cemetery for Isidor and Ida Strauss, who went down together in one of the most famous incidents of that disaster. The inscription is very moving. Zoom in and read it. If you need to, just save it to your files and then zoom in.
