www.petfinder.com/petdetail/6700926It's still there. I have it saved in my comcast account; it's Chewie when I first saw him. I had two choices, then they said they had a third, older hamster if I wanted to look at him. Since he reminded me of Sophie, it was an easy choice. So sweet and fun he was. By careful observation and a vet visit was revealed his teeth were curled and needed to be cut. He would have baby food, "No, it's for a hamster, no joke!" I tell the cashier, sometimes. I will always love my little guy. And when I pray I end it by saying, "I love you Harriet, Theo, Benny, Sophie, Chewie, and Poco." Yes, Chewie...and all my other hamsters; I will always miss and love you.

You just choked me up thinking about him and especially all of mine. I never go to the cemetery without going past the burial place and saying a prayers and thanking them for their good times. Maybe you do the same at your burial place. *wipes tear* So Chewie used to be Tiko?? Very pretty saved the photo. Mine are all in Memorial Gallery. Hard for me to look at them without tearing up. Owing to the "stuff" I went through the past few years I was lax in keeping it updated; too busy. My apologies to those few I missed, but I will try to get back to you asap. Any reason you thought of this today? I well remember his teeth, or lack thereof. You took such good care of him. BTW, Petfinder was how I got reunited with Asia and Becca, as I posted on RR some months ago in Rabbits,

Maybe you do the same at your burial place. ^While it's illegal, our burial place is the back yard. Harriet, Theo, Benny, and Sophie are under a tree where no one can get to because of the thick roots and it's under many branches. Chewie, on the other hand, is right under our kitchen window. I took pictures of their "spots". So Chewie used to be Tiko?? ^Yes. I forget what the name Tiko meant as I did ask them. I also remember asking them if I could rename him and they said yes. I remember thinking I wanted a Star Wars name and thought of: Wookie, Solo, and others, but finally liked the name Chewie. He was long-haired like the Wookie and it was a good name for him. Hard for me to look at them without tearing up. ^I know what you mean. As I finished writing that I began to fill up and had to get off quickly so I wouldn't cry. Any reason you thought of this today? ^No. I usually go to my comcast account whenever I think it's getting full to delete a lot of junk. From time to time, when I visit my comcast account I look up pictures of my hamsters or look through letters that I have saved. I just decided to see if the petfinder photo was still up because the last time I checked, which was last year, it was. Did they take it down? Nope, it's still up. So I will keep it forever as that was my little dude when he was younger. The title "little dude" has been passed onto Luke now. I well remember his teeth, or lack thereof. You took such good care of him. ^Thank you. He was an awesome hamster! BTW, Petfinder was how I got reunited with Asia and Becca ^I saw. That's great! I bet they missed you and were glad to be back home.

A lovely tribute to Chewie.
I can't see the photo; I get a page saying that the pet can no longer be found.
Katie, I told you about Tiko/Chewie's listing, didn't I?
Petfinder is a great thing. All of my 6 rescued hams came from there.
I have 6 buried in my back yard. I try to plant things there but the deer eat everything I put out.

Wow, after years they finally took down Chewie's photo. It was a good shot of him too.
Yes, Robin. I remember you telling me about the organization that took in Chewie and the other hamsters. And I still remember discussing the names with you too.
Bad deer; can you bury them under a tree perhaps? That's what we did with the dwarfs and Sophie, they're under some large roots that no one can get too. Maybe the deer couldn't go there. And yes, Petfinder is an awesome site to rescue any animal!

I got Becca and Asia back via Petfinder, as you may recall.
Post the Chewie photo on another site: Webshots, Picturetrail, Photobucket, whatever.
