I'm afraid to say that Homer died last night. He died about 5.30am cuddled up in my hand. He did go peacefully.
It's such a shame, he was only 10 months old and had a character bigger than the world. He will be sadly missed.
I will try and get a new mate for Bart as I guess Homer's death will hit him hard as they were very close. It seems horrible thinking about trying to 'replace' Homer, but I have to for Bart.
RIP Homer

I'm so sorry I lost a young one too a few months ago, she was only 8 months I don't think about it as replacing them, I don't know.. I saw how insane my girl got [chewing at the bars *all* night when she'd never done it before] when her friend died. She was fine again when I got her 2 friends. When you do get a new rat/rats make sure you quaruntine them first, and introduce them correctly else you could end up with illness/fights on your hands
