So I was coming home from walking Luke at seven-something-am and just decided to look up. Well looking at me was this cool looking hawk!! He was starting right at me, then looked to the left, and flew off. He had an awesome wing-span and was tan/white. I didn't see the whole bird, just the front of him and his wings (which were very feathery as if the bird was stocky--storing for the winter?). The most I can guess (as from looking it up) it could've been: 1) Broad-Winged Hawk: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broad-winged_Hawk2) Red Tailed Hawk (I thought I could tell what they looked liked): en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red-tailed_HawkI believe I saw the first one as this is what the hawk looked like on the branch (of a favorite tree my brother and I used to climb). I hope to see it again so I can really get a good look at it. But it was still a neat sight to behold!

Very nice! I have seen some of those in Green-Wood Cemetery.

I like seeing them perched on street lights, looking down on the world. Occasionally I've seen one swoop down to grab a mouse or something from the side of the road or the median.

Whoa, that's cool Robin!! I mean not cool for the poor mouse, but circle of life right? We saw one, I believe it was the male as it looked small, get some straw for the nest.
Robin--can males help out with the nest? Or is it only the females who do that?
