Ah, so those are mice! Benji appears a lot bigger. Siamese and burmese gerbs are at the top of my Next Gerbils list, along with Dark Eyed Honey which are really beautiful.

I don't know which one is which yet, I've not met them Apparantly one is slightly bigger but the picture makes him seem like a giant compared to the other I've wanted siames and burmese gerbs since my interest started in them, I think they're so pretty!

Wonder why gerbs have furry tails, unlike mice/rats. Colder climate?

Quite possible. I have read that the bare tails of rats and mice aid in body heat regulation.
Could be that gerbils are more resistant to heat/cold.

Ahhh, so if a rat or mouse is cold they clearly must gather their tail under their body to conserve warmth? Have you seen that?
I just thought of the "sails" on top of a stegosaurus - used for heat regulation, and protection.
