Hi all, Blaze's pups went to there new homes yesterday, well I have took some pictures of the 3 (yes 3..) of the little dudes I am keeping! Well here they are! Lightning sat in my hand Little Twister, I was going to call him Nitro, but the name doesn't fit such a tiny hamster! So Nitro is his middle name Anyone remember a kids show called 'Playschool'? well 'Lets have a look through the arched window' Twister looking very innocent 'Peek a boo!' Diesel filling his face! The proud mom Blaze filling her face! we can see where Diesel gets it from! Well they were five weeks old yesterday, Twister and Lightning is still very tiny compared to Diesel. I would say both were the runts of the litter. I am leaving them with there Mom for an extra week while Diesel is now in his own cage Cute ain't they! Kane

They're very cute -- good pics too.
Don't you wish you could keep them that young forever?

I'm in love with Twister. Puck looked like that when he was little.

Awww...your hammies are very cute! How do you get them to stay still in your hand long enough to snap a photo? B/c Sophie was so hard!

Lovely photos. Beautiful critters. Twister and Diesel especially.
When tame they stay still in your hand; most of mine stare at me when I talk to them.
The most affecting thing about my Rainy, the grandma, is how she stays active - but with a sort of limp owing to some kind of stiffness in her right hind leg. A speedy old lady though, and, along with Theodora (the most and best personality), is a favorite. Prince and Blanche are also for reasons you all should know.

Let me clarify. My Syrians stay calm in my palm and stare at me when I talk to them; I don't have dwarfs so I do not know what they do. I assume they are indeed a lot more active.
Jeez, what a cold night. I'd better turn on the electric heater in the Rodent Room. . .

I think you're kinda confused, I Used to have dwarf hamsters, now I have a Syrian. Sophie is very tame & loves to be in my hand, yet she doesn't like to stay still. Sophie is only still on me when she hears something, is grooming, or...well I won't go there... ;D

I have never had a hamster "go" on me, of that is what you mean.
The only times a gerbil has done that was a few times when I first got the girls; Crystal did it once or twice. A nice warm feeling. . .
They were young and nervous then.

Havix, for all that she desires to inflict injury, has never atempted to soil my clothing. I'm proud of her for exercising considerable restraint in that regard.

You guys have never had your hamsters "go" on you? (sorry this an odd question) Maybe its b/c I have her out too long or she runs too fast on me or....hmm...mediate on this I will. (you know star wars...attack of the clones...yoda.....nm.... )

Mmm, this series I know.
When she prances back and forth a lot, I put her back in the tank for a few minutes, until she wants to climb up on my hand again.
The longest time she was out, she just fell asleep on my chest under the warmth of my (gloved) hand. I dozed off too, and we passed twenty minutes that way, until she stirred and wanted to go back to the tank.

Aww...that's so cute Rasputin! I almost did that with my dwarf, but I put Benny back.
*Cool; which SW film is your favorite?*

Puck has never pooped on me, but the dwarfs used to poop whenever I would pick them up. Can you imagine what it would be like to be picked up for the first time by a King Kong sized hand???
