That's great that they rescued them!! However, why would they just grow up in a zoo? Wouldn't it be better to rehabilitate them and put them back into the wild?

I think you should rename your subject line: Heat Alert For All Animals because you basically just said what needs to be done for all animals in the heat.
And for dogs, do not keep them in cars if you go into a store!

The female chickens at Paws would often make nests and lay eggs. I hear all female birds tend to do that (make a nest and lay eggs) even if a male bird isn't present.
If she lays eggs, I would just be careful trying to remove them from her, possibly when she isn't there. While no babies are inside, the mothers will still defend them fiercely.

Nice shot. Wait...bird poop can harm a stone?

Jasmine looks nice and that's good that she's settling in. At Paws, I remember them taking care of a Crow and another bird, maybe it was a pigeon, but I don't really remember.

Huh, I hope Mable is okay. I'm not sure what's going on, her eye in the one photo looks like how my hamsters had their eyes, but they weren't diagnosed with diabetes. That's good that Mable is still herself and will eat.

Sporting Group: Wire Haired Pointer Working Group: Portuguese Water Dog Terrier Group: Smooth Fox Terrier
A horrible line-up, but at least it was better last years...sort of. I was rooting for the American Foxhound, Bichon Frise (a bit but they won already), and the Smooth Fox Terrier. The Old English Sheepdog was young, so that would've been cool if he won.
Drum roll please.....the Affenspinscher won Best in Show. What a big disappointment, in my opinion at least. So congrats to Banana Joe.
Slightly getting sick of Westminster picking ugly breeds, but it's not about beauty for these shows. But I'm really hoping next year will be better.

Hound Group: American Foxhound Toy Group: Affenspinscher Non-Sporting Group: Bichon Frise Herding Group: Old English Sheepdog
To me, not the best of line-ups. As of right now I'm only rooting for the American Foxhound. The Bichon is cool, but they've won it already and the Bobtail is okay. The Affenspinscher is so ugly that I will never root for him.
Well let's see what tomorrow brings! My Best in Show dog is sleeping on the bed. That's what I should be doing....sleeping. Night.

I would've love to have seen your vet's face when he found out that Jilly was Gilly. I hope Gilly is doing well and your new name for him is priceless.

I'm sorry about your hamsters dying. I haven't heard of that; I always assumed that the seeds were from bird seeds too. Perhaps you can also ask your vet.

You really ought to read your own response and then mine. You often confuse what you wrote, thinking I wrote it and then you respond. I didn't write that second statement that you responded to; you did.
This is what I wrote to you. I think it's awesome that they've added more breeds and continue to do so!
Easier for you to say that when you were never there and never experienced the heat and crowded gridlock in the benching area, esp the Toy area. ^I guess I couldn't as you well know that I have allergies. As and far as memory serves me, as soon as I mentioned wanting badly to go to the WDS, you found out about seeing the breeds. So in stead of saying "I was never there" and throwing it back in my face b/c I can't go; why don't you just leave it alone or maybe for once in your life thank me for teaching you a bit about dog breeds. Cause as far as memory serves me again every time you went you asked me what the breeds were. So yes, you learned a bit from those shows, but you also asked me for help. Or do you not remember that?
So perhaps that will draw more people. ^I said that, next time read what I wrote.
Yes I am acting in an angry way. I'm not feeling well and your two things (what I mentioned above) and others have been driving me up a wall for years. It's time to stop them and it's time for me to give this dead forum a long rest! It's time to give a lot of things a very permanent rest.

As for cost, much higher prices mean fewer people, ^Oh I don't think so. This is the Super Bowl of the Canine World, people will still come and a lot too.
Now many many more dogs; that problem got worse as new breeds get added. ^To you. I think it's awesome that they've added more breeds and continue to do so!

The economy is hurting everyone, I bet that's why they raised their prices too. As for why it moved, maybe some people got tired of it being there and told them to go move. There was one place where I would walk the MS Walk and we had it at this one place for years, then a new company came in, told them to clear out, and they had to find another place to hold it. Maybe that's what happened there. *shrugs* Two new dogs are joining the ranks and they say this is the largest bunch of dogs that have ever been in Westminster before. Over 2,000 breeds!! I've seen the Treeing Walker at the shelter walk I do every year with Luke. The Russel Terrier looks similar to the JRT; I'll have to see how to tell them a part when I go guessing before the announcer says it. Feb. 11 & 12 they're on! Channel USA and CSNBC at 8pm! Can't wait!
