I also have major issues with large snakes bred in basements, and live feedings which I know from pet store people I speak to are enjoyed by sadistic people. The sale of live rodents should be illegal. I am not fond of frozen ones either. The HSUS is opposed to reptiles as pets for various reasons (cannot be domesticated, for example); I am opposed to selling live animals that would normally be pets as food. Keeping a big python in a museum serves a didactic purpose; that is different from Joe Six Pack and his pythons in his basement watching live feedings with his beer-drinking pals.
And that is my opinion.

Long ago I asked about the inbreeding issue vis a vis Syrian hamsters and other animals. It is likely still up in the Hamsters forum from several years back. Find it with a forum Search. My concern was they all come from a very small sample in the 1930's. My experience is that they vary a lot, but few were difficult, and I have had many dozens.

You should post up somewhere all the critters you've had, who you no longer have, for whatever reason. All mine stay until they die, and I know have need to update my Memorial Gallery. It ain't nothing compared to GP poo.

It is a little raw for me too. Not comparably to you, but I am wiping a tear right now having seen her photos again. For real.

Yes, I took all of them, thanks.
Many have no smell; some have a great smell. In the gallery there is a white rose called Jardins de Bagatelle. It was the most fragrant and distinctively so.

The second photo is GREAT!
How much thicker is their Winter coat?
What does that say on your back?
Think the horses would like calm classical music piped in there to keep them company?

Oh yea, the dorsal lines.
"Dorsal". Sounds like a fish!

In the Habitrail tubes brown stuff was dripping out of the joints. But, if you have a TP tube they can "go"there, and you can replace it every day--helps keep the rest of the place cleaner longer.

So true. See Andrea's tribute to her rabbit, Bo, from some months earlier.
I sent her an e-card after Bo passed away, and a poem after Whiz died, but there isn't much more I could say that was needed as she captured her essence so well.
