I got the message from Tom That you lost Bo I haven't been around much the last couple of months but I had to say something, Bo was a special one. How you talk about Bo, you can just feel the love you have for him, it's beautiful. You where lucky to have Bo, but Bo was absolutely a lucky bunny to have you! May the memories of your special moments with him help you overcome the pain of losing him. Rust zacht Mooie Bo

Sure she is, but I think "we" like to remember her by the things she did..not "because she died 01/11/2010"
Also; She is well known, I don't think you can find many people in the Netherlands that don't know who Miep Gies is.
There where much more like her here in Holland(Also persons who did much more for the Resistence/jews/minorities) who stayed anonymous... MG only got famous because of Anne's diary So I think we shouldn't just remember her because she is MG, one of Anne's "friends", but also because she is the face of all who did the same as she did but didn't get this recognition. By remembering her, we remember them.
She also said so herself; She didn't attend big events like she used to, and liked her privacy.... This is just Respecting her wishes.

It was sad to hear..but old people die She was incredibly brave and very loyal to the Frank-family.
There isn't really been a big reaction to the news overhere in Holland, dutch people are a bit "cool" about old people we don't really know dying.
She was great and it's sad she died, but she had a good life and she did fantastic things. that should be celibrated, mourning is for her family.

Did she start white and developed a point? Than she's Himalayan If she started a little Sepia-like and transformed to a Cream/white-colored rat with a point she's a Siamese..

Yeah but Céilidh is A BES, normally the Siamese are RES/PES(Red eyed Siamese/Pink eyed Siamese) so her ears are darker(Although tex, my RES-Siamese, also had "black ears") Céilidh also has a Point at the base of her tail, and she has "sleeves". That's normal. Siamese rats change by age...like this(Actually Céilidh with sibling): 3 days. 6 days.(you can see they're a bit "sepia" colored) 8 days 12 days(the dark one on top, you can see the start of the point at the tail base) 15 days 3,5 weeks(céilidh's brother, Caddock) 7 weeks(Caddock again) And this is what caddock look liked 1 month ago..his point has gotten darker So they start like a Sepia-colored baby and end up to be cream color with a dark nose, tail base and "sleeves". Different from a Himalayan; they start as an all-white kitten and will develop points from 6 weeks and up, but their points will always be smaller than on a Siamese(And they don't always have a point at tail base) Also; A siamese is Cream-colored, A Himi is Snow white when you have your Siamese/Himalayans in a "colder" room the points will get darker. My rats are in a room that's about 15C, they seem to like that the best because it's not to warm and not very cold. My Siamese boys&girls are very dark at the moment..I love it, hopefully they keep it this way...I noticed that Tex got a little lighter on the nose this summer but now he has an almost black nose again

A Sealpoint Siamese rat? like this(maybe red or ruby eyes): This is Céilidh btw I love names that are historical, something I like or have a meaning to me. At the moment I like Horatio for a boy(Horatio Hornblower, I love the books) I think I had to come up with around 200 names as well...not all where as creative

Well, I posted my cages in a thread a while ago.. the boys & girls have the same cages but are separated, Only Tex is living alone in a different cage because he doesn't like other rats. I think the cat must have been hanging on the door...I actually don't know, I wasn't there off course, I can only guess how it went. I know I didn't leave any doors open, I always check all my cages before I leave the room... Imaginary Superstar is Immie for short I love coming up with names for the rats, that's 50% of the fun while waiting I'm thinking about calling the next girl(Céilidh's baby) Evangeline Bellefontaine(Poem; Evangeline, a tale of Acadie) The only name I didn't choose was Everlong, but I love the name and I know her since she was only 1 day old with this name. Everlong is the Foo Fighters' Song

So..Big update Currently I have 9 girls & 8 boys. The Girls are; Juno Regina Everlong Imaginary Superstar Shades of Avalon Mystical faerie Oraïa Ophelia Caramel Céilidh Poison Girl Dream catcher Juno is the oldest, she'll turn 2 in febr. Dream catcher is the youngest. She is Oraïa's daughter and was born here in October Unfortunately I lost 2 of my girls just 1 day before Oraïa's babies where born. A neighbor's' cat found it's way into the rodent room, It seems he/she opened the girls cage because 1 of the doors was open and all my girls where gone..Luckely most of them were unharmed, but Sharada&Passie were gone. My stepfather did find Sharada, 2 streets behind ours but she was death already...Passie we never found again I did lose some more; Baby died at the wonderful age of 2 years and 8 months. Moortje died 1,5 month later very suddenly, she mourned after Baby's death and I guess she couldn't go on without her best friend. Namari&Ace died at the same day; Namari being almost 2 and Ace just turning 1,5. Honey died a few months after her grandmother; she had had a tumor-removal surgery but didn't recover well..she died a month after her first birthday the boys are: Dai kin Forever Texas Oh my! Apple Pie! Joyful Jackpot Qonquistador Cashmere Dreams Mo Ghile Mear Deepest Love Dai is the oldest boy right now, he'll turn 2 in April. Deepest Love is Dream catcher's brother & Oraïa's son. At the moment my rats are having a virus, I already lost Knight 1,5 wk ago. Unfortunatly Dai&Appie are also not really recovering. If all goes well, and my rats are virus-free, Caramel Céilidh will have a litter in about 2 months(End of febr.) She was born here, Avalon is her mother & Cashmere is her brother. So I'm really looking forward to that I'll post some pictures of all the rats later on!

It's so much fun to see how dogs react to other/new things or animals ^^ Jesse met his first goat a little while back, he didn't know what to think and didn't really enjoy it at first. The goat did, she chased Jesse around. He was running around, tail between his legs and trying to have me pick him up But when I sat down, Jesse on my lap, the goat could finally satisfy her curiosity and jesse actually licked her ears(he has a thing for ears : We have some snow fun this week, First time for Jesse&Neeka they see it. My little Naked boy isn't a fan, but his little sis is going crazy for it. She's like a little Bunny hopping around because she's not that big and there is lots of snow! Neeka wants out at least 2 times an hour right now, just to play in the snow ;D

By the way, I'm almost certain that we passed through Steenwijk once while driving through the Netherlands. We have dear friends in Enschede and have also spent time with their parents in Leeuwarden. We love the countryside there. Thanks, db Enschede is at the other side of Overijssel. Leeuwarden is closer to me although that's Friesland. Yeah, I'm a big fan of our "platteland" & "natuur gebieden" @robin; When I have the time I'll make a thread, At the moment I have the flue so I can't stay up very long(Although it's midnight here right now; I can't sleep because It feels as if I can't breath when I'm in bed ) If I feel better tomorrow I'll make 1

My favourite girl Passie went through it almost 2,5 months ago. She recovered but still has a tilted head. She's one of the sweetest rat i've ever had so I was really shocked. One moment she's bouncing around, running up de stairs and suddenly she's completly motionless But, although she has a tilted head, she's (almost)back to her old self. Making a lot of trouble, "herassing" me with her attention , and playing with the dogs&Other rats. She doesn't seem to have any trouble getting around although up untill 2,5/3 weeks ago her balance wasn't always what it used to be. But now that's also fine again(Not completly normal, but it's manageable). I hope your girl will recover...

@ DF: I need to feed him every 3 hours(he also drinks milk from a bowl, so sometimes I can wait 1 feeding-time) but that's not a problem because I have (Chronic) Insomnia and I don't sleep much Rainy's babies where beautiful, I can imagine you must miss them, as I miss Noortje a lot. Luckely I still have Lilli(Her daughter), but she celibrated her 2nd birthday in march so I don't know how long she'll be with me.
