Some more have passed today and during the last month. During the last month we lost: Saphira, who was a Bearded Dragon and Molly, who was the last of our mice. This month we lost Isabel, our oldest sheep. She was put down today. She will join her son, Rascal, in heaven. Also Charlie, the Guinea Pig, had to be put down as well. He was my favorite GP. May they all rest in peace. But we did get another GP today that we're going to rename. His coloring is greyish, which I've never seen before.

So sorry. RIP. Glad they had a good life with you folks. I assume they were sick. Right? Photos are welcome. I have had no major deaths in a while. I know I need to update my Memorial Gallery. Just so busy. Ugh.

I assume they were sick. Right? ^Saphira had gall (or bladder stones, can't remember which) stones and Molly had tumors. Isabel was just very very old and with Charlie, we think he had a Vitamin C deficiency because his former owners never treated him properly. Sara told me the vet said he was small for his size, so I think one day his body just couldn't take it anymore and he went quickly.

I suppose it was too late to get Vitamin C; the damage was done? RIP to them all. BTW, I have had more serious PC problems to such an extent it may take awhile to get to those rare breeds photos from Meet the Breeds. Busy busy. And it is all annoying and costly.

No, the vet told us he had a Vitamin C deficiency so we gave him all we could that had Vitamin C, except for oranges as he was allergic to them.
I'm thinking he was either very sick or just had a heart attack as Sara said he didn't look to well around 8am and then at 10am he was stiff when she went to bring him to the vet. So hopefully, Charlie went quickly.
We did get another GP that a lady had to give up. She didn't want to give him, Squirrel, up but said her other male GP wasn't getting along with the other. We're renaming him and Carolyn, another worker, came up with a good name: Toffee.

Best wishes to Squirrel/Toffee.
I have no familiarity with male GPs fighting and such. *shrugs* Interesting question. . .

Well Toffee's name was changed to a more appropriate name: Chaos. That little GP is annoying the heck out of me. But for some very sad news. Last week we had to take our mini cow, Buttercup, to the vet as she was losing weight, not eating or drinking, and just looking down. The vet did some surgery on Saturday, but she didn't pull through. Buttercup was one cool cow. She was so sweet with people and would let anyone pet her for as long as they wanted to pet her. She was described as a "mini cow" but didn't look it and was brown/white/with a smidgen of black on her. I always called her "Buuutercup" with a deep voice and it was funny to watch her run from the Emu and how one time I told her to "mooove" and she came right up to me! I did go through my fear periods with her as...well how would you like it if a cow tried to jump on you? But she was fun to pet, fun to visit, and she will be missed. I almost cried when Sara told me about her this week. It will be odd not to visit her, smell that odd smell of old milk on her, and pet her underneath her chin where she would lift her head because she loved to be scratched there. Rest in peace Buttercup; you will be missed.

That is very sad. You mentioned her many times. What was wrong with her? Perhaps you will get a new cow someday. They were all lucky to have led dignified and loved lives with all of you.

Thanks you two. It felt weird last weekend not to see her. As I hear and understand it, she had high count of red blood cells and tumors in her. So they decided to operate and she didn't survive the surgery as she started to really bleed.

We lost a young animal Thursday night. He wasn't my favorite, but was still a cool guy. His name was Chester and he was a Crow and he was able to say many words. How were we supposed to know he'd take out, literally take out, my co-worker's earring? Well he did and swallowed it. Sara took him to the vet, but he didn't make it. Rest in peace Chester.

Sheeeez! That's awful. Crows are very smart, but I guess not omniscient. Keep little shiny things away from them as if they were toddlers.

Yes, they love shiny things. The imprinted crow at Tri-State had a favorite teaspoon that he/she played with.
Rest peacefully, Chester.

Three have gone this pass week and two I liked very much. 1. There was a chick that was born and he was accidentally stepped on by a goat, but his brothers and sisters are well. The mother chicken was stupid bringing her chicks out in the open where the goats could accidentally do something to them. 2. Goblin, an African Clawed Frog (albino too) died. He died last Saturday. I liked him because he looked different and that I got to name him. 3. My favorite Chinchilla died of old age yesterday. He was the coolest because I could pet him the longest and he wouldn't mind me petting him. So good-bye chickie, Goblin, and Paco. May you all rest in peace.

Very nicely said about a sad occasion. Goblin was a nice name for such a critter. Did he look like this? Interesting about those frogs. What color was Paco? Take photos at Paws while you can.
