I've kept the fuzzy little joys for a while now -- got a few of them. Who else has a lot of gerbil experience?

I wouldn't say I have a lot of gerbil experience, as I've only had my first pair for almost two years. Started with those two boys and added three girls. I've had quite a few pets in my lifetime, but I have to say gerbils are my favorite.

Well, timewise, you've got to give yourself credit for raising several gerbs, over an extended time -- several gerbils, was it?
Think of how long that is in gerbil years! ;D

I've got 2 girls and 2 boys at the moment. I wouldn't say I was an expert, but I know quite a lot.

I've been keeping gerbils for nearly 8 years now, and they have a very special place in my heart that no other furry will take

I have 12 gerbils:
The Gang of Four: Tommy and his brothers Dill and Phil, and their uncle Cliffy.
The Girls: Chrissie and Crystal, Cliffy's sisters.
The Rescues: Phoenix (abandoned at a pet store) and Rudolf (had a very red nose which I cured).
The very active friendly Sam and his diffident tankmate Dave, who replaced Sam's deceased identical brother, Ted (RIP).
Whitey, the curious Dark Tailed White, although his tail isn't very dark, and his buddy, the couch potato, chubby shy Petey, who I keep trying to get to lose weight.
I've posted many photos of them here.

I've got quite a few , I've had gerbs almost 3 years now & been raising them for about 1 1/2 years. I never had them growing up (always had cats, dogs & birds) but I am glad that I opened my mind to small animals a few years ago. Due to the positive experience with them I now have the hammy and would like to adopt other small & furries in the future.

Vodra leads the gerbils, assisted by her daughter and tankmate Kara, in a 20-gallon high tank.
Vodra's gerbil sister Brita schemes to take over the world with very sharp teeth, but is held in check by her tankmate, Beck -- also in a 20-gallon high tank.
Vodra's mate, Cole, rules an exile gerbil colony so that they can't have any more children. His sons, Leto and Odin, are loyal, but would like to know when the kingdom will be theirs again -- living in a 10-gallon tank with a cage extension providing three more levels above the glass.
Cole's gerbil brothers Sandy and Dusty lounge around in their cage/tank hybridization, enjoying the attention of resident humans and guests while indefatigably gnawing the bars in their quest for freedom -- another cage-tank bastardization.
Vodra's blind sons Casper and Corum spend their afternoons running in their wheel and destroying cardboard sacrifices -- a 20-gallon high tank.
Vodra's daughters, Cola, Cara, and Vail, are always eager to ride an outstretched hand to freedom, until they are put back in their cage again -- a 20-gallon high tank.
Vodra's sons, Mithrandir, Phaethon, Icarus, Lear, and Bacchus, run and play in the biggest tank out of the whole menagerie -- a 20-gallon long tank.

Time for Pan and Bacchus photos to appear in the Relaxing Rodents forum?
