I think this is the right thread to put this in. Every year Paws (where I work now) rescues fawns that either their mother has been hit by a car, died some natural way, or something else. We name all of them and take care of them by bottle feeding them and getting them ready to be released one day. This year I had the privilege of helping to raise them. They were all so cute and I asked if I could go with them when they're released and got the "okay" from my boss. So we released them in a secure area and they all eventually found each other and are living in the wild! I tried to a take a video of them, but found out I had done it wrong, so instead I got some pictures...I will post them later. But I asked my friend, and co-worker, if she could e-mail me the videos she took. Yesterday she did and said "yes" to my question of sharing them with all of you. So enjoy some fawns being released, none of them are long at all. In them you will see our head boss, her son, and you actually see me once. Enjoy ;D : ca.youtube.com/watch?v=bKToBnocB04 ca.youtube.com/watch?v=U5saKqWETrM ca.youtube.com/watch?v=THe9yh0NV6o ca.youtube.com/watch?v=iD8zl6vg3XI ca.youtube.com/watch?v=80HZU5UFOVk

Cool! I think that was only an unrecognizable part of you, not you! But you prefer it that way, right?? Hope they flourish and mature.

I have no time to watch five videos right now. I will when I can. Glad it went well.

I don't quite get you Robin, do you mean I don't like to be shown in pictures or whatever? For that I don't mind, but I don't like myself in pictures.

That was her inference, as far as I can discern. *shrugs* I think you said something once about yourself in a photo, intimating that you didn't like to be in photos. Maybe you did actually mean that you didn't like the way you look--which is what you mean above when you say, "I don't like myself in pictures"?

Not sure if you're everything a jury would want--or everything it wouldn't want! ;D

When I was on Grand Jury Duty - very long - I would spend most of the slow mornings reading thick books, such as the Prize-winning "A Bright and Shining Lie", about Vietnam. When it came time to nail some miscreants several characters on the jury thought I would let him off. Curious syllogism: reading = soft on crime. Not. "GET A ROPE!"
On the manslaughter criminal jury I was on I actually led the defense - as there was no evidence against him worth a damn.

Off from Jury Duty right now. . . Let's see if I can watch some videos. I am sure you all know what you are doing and what is best for the fawns. . . There goes the first!! I'd find doing this kind of thing tough, for reasons I guess are obvious. I am going to get up and eat something while this loads. . . Each one takes about five-six minutes to load. I just heated up some Chunky (creamy) Chicken & Dumplings soup in the microwaveable container. . . now to see all of #1. . . OK. How did they all react? I can't find my headphones. *sighs* Was the sound important? If so, I will listen later. I assume the first was Cherry? Now for Sky. . . Are these critters tagged at all? I mean does the NJ State officials have any contact with these releases? Oh yea, how much later in the year could they be released, what with Autumn (thankfully) right around the corner and food supplies running low? Looks like Sky didn't want to leave. . Who is the blonde human? I will watch more soon. . . The soup was good. . .

I am sure you all know what you are doing and what is best for the fawns. . . ^Yes, they're released every year and the employees there who take care of them make sure they go to somewhere safe. I was lucky enough to help and go with them on my first time! Each one takes about five-six minutes to load. ^Sorry about that. How did they all react? ^Most of the deer were fine, they ran off into the woods or sniffed around a bit and then walked further in. The only one who hung around a lot was Rosie, but soon she got the hang of it. Was the sound important? ^Not really, you just hear Sara say, "And there goes Cherry", "Look they found each other", "Go on sweety" and stuff like that. Are these critters tagged at all? ^No, they are not. But Sara has been with them every day so she knows who's who. I mean does the NJ State officials have any contact with these releases? ^Well you asked, sadly even though most of them went into areas that are safe there are still illegal hunters or the deer may wander off that protected area into where the hunters can legally hunt. Again sadly, this has happened before. Oh yea, how much later in the year could they be released, what with Autumn (thankfully) right around the corner and food supplies running low? ^This is the time, I heard, to release them. I'm sure there is food around since winter isn't here. Plus they're all together and will find food for all of them. Who is the blonde human? ^It's our head boss Pat. I will watch more soon. . . ^I hope you enjoy them! And thanks for saying it was cool, Robin!
