Rainy (see other thread in this forum) had her litter on Jan. 9th, 2003. Larry died as a runt, and Peter died suddenly 2 1/2 months later. In January, Ringy was found dead. Onyx has joined them. She was happy and frisky and normal May 10th; ten hours later I checked on her and she seemed to be sleeping very peacefully near her log with her hand under her head. I was stunned when she did not move when I touched her. Like with Ringy, a little bit of reddish liquid (blood, I assume) was spotted around the nose, suggesting a stroke or some sort of respiratory attack. (?). Onyx was sweet and nice like all the others of that litter; although not a major favorite she was loved as much as any. RIP, Onyx. 1/9/03-5/11/04. Boudicca, Zeb, Makeeda, Raven, Theodora, Hypatia, Ebony, and Zenobia remain of Rainy's children. All are well. Onyx in happier times. Her final sleep. Such a peaceful death, unlike her poor mom.

Not as many as Kane, thankfully. But at least this one was peaceful.
I do wonder what it was as Ringy last January died similarly. No symptoms or warnings at all.

Thanks. I suppose 17 months after their birth eight out of twelve remaining alive and well isn't bad at all. But still. . . You know. Again, if anyone knows the cause, based on the sudden death, and the reddish liquid on the nose, please let me know. (?).

DF, I'm so sorry to hear of Onyx's passing. I'm "glad" to hear she went peacefully. *hugs* Cognac
