Recently, Ebony died, which was not shocking as she was about 29 months old. Her brother, Zeb, the last of a large litter that was here, is old and in bad shape. Such things are inevitable. But shockingly, I found two dead early this morning: the beloved Prince and his son Juniper, who lived in a different room. No symptoms from either, although Prince may have been breathing a little harder as he slept yesterday, maybe. Princess (see avatar photo) was a rescue after she was abandoned at age two by some horrid people who left her in a pet store in a CT2 cage. On March 2, 2003, I brought it and her home. We had six lovely months, until she died of a stroke in my hand. The next day I went to a small store that rarely had long hairs, but they actually had another banded sable who looked like her younger brother. That was Prince. And he was as sweet and lovely as she was. Less than a year later I rescued Cinnamon and her son Dion. Being an escape artist she got in with Prince for an hour, and that was all it took! Of course I kept all the babies. Here are their photos, Right HereJuniper, born Sept. 2, 2004. Sadly and shockingly, they are both gone. Prince was getting on (how time flies), but Juniper died way too soon. He and Prince are survived by their six siblings: Oregano, Basila, Caraway, Paprika, Rosemary, Saffron. MEMORIAL PHOTO GALERYThere is right now some lucky banded sable who within a week will have a nice home here. That is the good part of this. Like ephemeral flowers they bloom and pass away, and all we can do is give them a nice place while they are here.

Aww...I'm so sorry!! Just try and remember the happy times with them & just think they're in heaven now playing with all the other little hamsters you've had. I hope you're okay. *gives you a pat on the back.*

Thanks. A shame though - my back is getting sore these days. Zeb is still alive. The old guy staggered out for some tofu. I think he sleeps 20 hours or more a day. I will leave the big wheel in although he never uses it; he may wish to sleep under it. I have started BAKING wooden toys, and Chubes, to kill mites. I stop when they start to smoke! The damn mites would have to be fireproof to survive!!

*gives DF a biggg hug and then lets go so you can breathe.* Thanks. I need it these days. I wonder if the lack of hard gym exercise is part of the problem (a small part) owing to lack of endorphins produced? I better eat something. . . minestrone and cheese. I really get hungry these days: with me depression results in NOT eating. Strange. Nice talking to you. It helps. Wish I could type faster, though!
