I lost Cinnamon at about 1:42 in the AM this morning. I saw her lying on her belly breathing heavily. I gently wrapped her in a towel for warmth, but she was gone in the four minutes it took me to return with the tetracycline antibiotic. I rescued her last year with her son Dion, who was the cutest hamster I ever had. He looked much like her but with a white band near his shoulders. He died before his time. They are now both memorialized in my Photo Gallery - click on the link at the bottom of my signature below for their photos and stories, and those of others. For now, here is a photo of them together the first day I got them, before I moved them to their permanent bins with better wheels. RIP both of you. This one hurts more than most.

Thanks. Cinnamon's CT2 will likely be occupied by a young "Panda bear" who reminds me of Rainy's big litter of 1/9/03. So many babies then, more than half Pandas, the rest "Black Bears". They all grew and passed here in less than 29 months.

She died Dec, 8, 2005, same date as the first post. She was lovely. I also rescued her son, Dion, who died much earlier, suddenly, way before his time. He was the cutest ham I ever had. You can Search for him here, or just look over the old threads; I have photos of him up. Also heck the Memorial Gallery in my signature (it needs updating). Thanks for the condolences. It has been way over a year but like with so many it always is painful.

I had a neighbor, Mary, who loved her yellow labrador retriever dog whom she had for 14 years since a puppy. When the dog was so debilitated and crippled by arthritis and had to be put down Mary had it done in her apartment and held the dog as she was euthanized. I don't know how she could stand it - maybe her love for the dog, Jerry, carried her through as she was ending her pain after a beautiful life. This is the story. I urge you to please read it; it is very moving. RIGHT HERE
