So sorry. And that is why cats and hamsters do not belong in the same house. The hamster always gets loose at some point. They are escape artists, and have done some amazing things to get loose in here in the past. Go rescue some hamsters to make up for that, but only when you no longer have a cat!

I cant just get rid of my cat plus its not my chose. But I have done some arangments...I put the cage on a little table where only the cage fits and during the night when my little dwarf hamster is awake I put a towel over her cage so the cat wont get so interested. It seems to have worked really well with my new little dwarf^^

If you have no choice in the matter do what you can. It is still best to keep the hamster in a separate room where the cat does not go. If the hamster gets on the floor and starts walking around the cat will get interested.

aww sry for your loss.
but id have to agree with Die Fledermaus a separate room where the cat doesnt go can prevent another tragedy.
