Bailey passed away about a week ago, I guess she was just to weak ever since she got over pneumonia. She wasn't even a year old, I'm suspecting it was all the antibiotics. She was such a little fighter though. I do plan on owning more hamsters of course but Bailey was just so special, no hamster can replace her.

Thank you DF. At the moment, I have no photos because of the computer problems I've been having but if I do, I'll be sure to post them if this thread isn't too far down by then.

Aww, I'm so sorry Cheyenne. May Bailey rest in peace. And of course she would never be replaced in your heart.

I bought my other hamster Taz shortly after Bailey recovered from the pneumonia so I'm not left hamsterless, he'll keep me company. It's just so strange with the empty cage next to him.
Thanks for the kind words everyone.

No, no hamster can ever replace another. RIP your beloved Bailey. That is why IF I ever use the term "replace" it is in quotes. No new animal can replace a lost animal; they can add their own features, but the hole of loss is always there.

It's always hard when we loose a little friend. And it must be more hard knowing your hammy had been ill. I think many of us know from experiance the pain in your heart, i hope your heart heals quickly so you have only happy thoughts when you think of all the great memories you two had together.
(PS Where in "Canada" are you?)

We will all remember her!!! I hope you are okay. I don't know if you buried her but a week after my little ham was buried I visited his grave every day and even started crying again. It really actually helps, believe it or not.
