LexusApril 2004 - Jan. 19 2007 If a gerbil could be your best friend she was mine, Mother of 7 and devoted sister. Lexus passed away one day after her sister Mercedes. Lexus was my first gerbil I ever bought from a breeder, I picked the two girls up in Washington and it was love at first site. Lexus was a great mother, so proud she would try and carry her babies up my arm for me to see, she was such a silly girl. She always eyed the dog as it would be a neat ride around the room. Lexus outlived two of her fisrt children, and her husband/mate Chevrolet, but it seems she just couldn't be here without her sister Mercedes. Lexus lives on with her 5 remaining children, Alero, Audi, Caddilac, Jimmy and Dakota. It's so hard to loose such an amazing little creature, even in her last hours she was eating from my hand, running around on me, and even was running in her wheel. She will be terribly missed as there is no other like her. I love you Lexus and thank you so much for the wonderful memories, you are a very special girl. Big happy Family

Aww, she died of a broken heart. I'm so sorry. May Lexus rest in peace and at least she will be with her sister in heaven. *hugs*

Very sad. So sorry. Hope you are holding up. As always, remember the good times. Glad her children are fine.

So sad! Mercedes and now Lexus. Were they old for gerbils?
Lexus was a lovely color.
Hang in there, Andrea. It sure has been a rough week for you.

The girls would have been 3 in April, so they definetly were not young. Lexus' babies will all be two tomorrow, it's to bad she couldn't stay for their birthday. Jan. 29th of this year I lsot my first male gerbil Blazer, seems January is a crappy month for me.
Lexus was a Colour Point Golden Agouti, and Mercedes was a Burmese, both were rare colours up here when I got them. That's why I had to travel to find them. Their Cousin Gumba who is in my breeder friends clan now is also loosing alot of weight, seems age is also catching up with him too.
I will be burrying the two girls together as soon as the ground thaws a bit.

Those ARE rare colors around here, also. I have never seen them. I once saw some DEH's but they came from someone who lost his apartment. Lovely guys they were, Romulus and Remus. Their photos are still up in the Gerbil forum and/or Relaxing Rodents. Bury the two sisters deep and under a heavy rock - raccoons will go for the smell. I've lost so many; I have not even been able to keep the Memorial Gallery up-to-date. But I soon will.
