I went to the AWA website to e-mail them about some stray cats we have here & to see what they or I could do about it, so since I was on the site I decided to check what pets were up for adoption. Oh...my...gosh...I found several hamsters & one looks almost identically to Sophie! Here let me show you all: The first one is Hammy: www.petfinder.org/pet.cgi?action=2&pet=4345452&adTarget=& Here is a close up pic of her: www.petfinder.org/fotos/NJ146/NJ146.4345452-1-x.jpg Anyone who has seen Sophie knows that looks close to her. Here are the other hamsters. There are four babies, but they only show one: www.petfinder.org/pet.cgi?action=2&pet=4122499&adTarget=& I've very tempted to buy one of them! So, my Mom, Josh & I will head over to the shelter today. I don't have a job yet, but...we'll never know. Anyway I wanted to let you all know. So...should I?

You mean you live near the AWA? It wasn't open today due to training. I'm 15min away from it.

I'm here at the air force base.
We were just up in Voorhes yesterday shopping and a movie for father's day..
And, YES, you should go and get her - she's beautiful, and only a $5 adoption fee. I like how the place gives a bit of pertinent info regarding the care also.

Oh okay. Wow, do you like being part of the Air Force? Do you fly the planes?

The "military" life is no different from any other - aside from the fact that you move around a bit. The moving ,though, is mostly by choice, not required all the time. I've been married 18 and a half years, both kids were born on military base (the oldest in Germany). We had chosen early on not to move unless it was required for his advancement, so we spent 3 years in Germany, 9 years in Virginia, and then we chose to move here 6 years ago for the schools - we're both Northerners, so it made sense. He does not fly (I wish, the pay is WAY better!). He works with munitions. I guess you could say we have had more "experiances" compared to the average joe, but we really don't think so - but we certainly know how to pack a box correctly!!!

An update, went at 5pm. Went to the shelter saw two hamsters. Both were cute & they were asleep. Somehow I forgot that hamsters were nocturnal, lol. They both were very cute. The next time I go I'm going to ask if I could pick them up. And...lol...take some allergy meds first. Just being in there for about 10min I couldn't breathe afterwards. Stupid me.

You mean if I bought one or not?
Still haven't. I decided to get a job first (cause my last one I had to quit with allergies). Dangit.
