The story was written up in a magazine several months ago - "New York Tails". He was rescued after being abandoned in a rainy gutter by my friend Marian, given a nice cage, and refered to www.scarnyc.org which can be found in the Animal Rescue forum. My rescue confrere, Susan, refered him to me, and I've had him since. Recently I noticed an apparent tumor on his right side, and last night he was found dead. Lil Bit symbolized his desire to survive, the cruelty of the human who abandoned him, and the caring of other humans who rescued him. His story with photos is in this thread: RIGHT HEREPlease read it.

I've read the story a number of times--it really takes you through a range of emotions. . . . RIP Lil Bit. He deserves a nice resting place in Green-Wood.

Thanks. The rescuer, I, and others always saw him as a symbol of a cruel human, and a symbol of compassionate humans. Glad he ended up with the latter. A new rescued mouse is in his CT1 cage, and that is a separate thread here.

I wont go into alot of detail but there is evidence that a couple of our deceased dogs are still hanging around the house. So much that in one instance we still invite him into the bed at night time by telling him to get up onto the bed.
