Aren't they all! My dwarfs have NEVER attempted to bite me, other than during a scruffing for a sexing. Rumors of their horrible nature have been vastly exagerated!

You're right. The only time Benny bit me was when I was separating she & Theo for the last time & I think if she knew it was me then she wouldn't have bit me. Other then that my dwarves never ever bit. Yeah, you're right all of the sudden its like their getting a bad reputation or something. And I hate it how people don't look at the fact that some dwarves do need to be separated; that bugs me. How about you?

I have read far too many posts all over discussing dwarfs fighting and causing traumatic injuries for me to think keeping them together is safe. I once recently tried introducing to young males using every trick I know from gerbils; one of them went berzerk and climbed the mesh screen nine inches up and jumped at the other attacking him screaming all the time. Dwarfs are perfectly happy alone. And I am happy with mine not worrying if I am going to see some terrible injuries in the morning.

Wow, your hamster climbed up it to attack the other?! Dang.... Yeah, I think dwarves can live alone fine, just like you said.

You should have heard the noise, too! Like some savagery going on. Supposedly I should have used a finer mesh for them to prevent climbing, but I donlt think it would have mattered. It was Jerry (see above photos) who went nuts! Snowball escaped two nights ago. Her very fast use of the wheels caused the lid to slip down far enough to climb out on. Gone! So, the usual happened with escapes: she had a snooze somewhere, and then, later, she heard me calling her, and she comes right over from under an easy chair, unafraid, and let me scoop her right up. She had a drink in her tank, and went back to sleep.
