They were crammed into a small carrier at the pet store after being dumped there by someone. I got them from the worker there I know who works (secretly) for the www.nyanimalrescue.org group. They all appear to be female. No names yet. When they stop running in the wheel, the wheel keeps going and they go flying. It is pretty funny. The black one is the most timid.

What fine little squeakers!
How old do they seem to be really?
(Someone may have dumped them after an unexpected pregnancy by mis-sexed pets)

That's what happened. They were likely four weeks old when I took the photos a few days ago. I think. Note the coins and such for scale, so your guess is as good as mine. I am rescuing a legless gerbil soon. . .

They are beautiful. Where I live, gerbles are not allowed, so your pictures are as close to real-life I have ever gotten. Your pictures are great. The gerbles are so tiny. Thank you for sharing.

They are beautiful. Where I live, gerbles are not allowed. . . Stupid all-powerful Farm Lobby in CA. They could be licensed - and controlled that way. I wouldn't mind paying a license fee in NY State for permission to buy animals at a pet store; the fee could go for spaying and shelters.
