Hi all, I´m just kind of throwing out an idea here, if anyone might be interested, if not that is O.K. too LOL!! ;D....I have a friend who lives in Nassua County, she is a Teacher & off for the Summer, she also likes to visit animal folks LOL.....She should be coming to visit me soon here in New Hampshire...Presently I have quite a few lovely Gerbil Pups & Teens that I would like to find homes for. Some are VERY lovely Mottles, I also have Colorpoints,.. "ef" carriers for making Schimmel, From Champion "Kadith" I have Grey Agouti´s, & CP Polar Foxes. I also have solid Lilacs, some are REALLY good "selfs" with NO White under their chins...Also Nutmeg pups right now, other colors as well, lol.......Anyhoo, I´m betting I can pretty easily get her to transport Gerbies if anyone is interested, I do have some REALLY nice Extreme Mottles to place....All animals have nice Temperments Thanks for checking out my Thread

So you are offering free gerbils of unusual color and quality to breeding to people in the area whom will have the gerbs delivered to them?
Better be sure of the people, and that they are not disreputable. I am not direputable, allegedly, and might be able to take a few, but not for awhile. It would have to be colors I never had before, such as polar fox.
More later.

Well yes ....sort of LOL....On the unusual colors & such....Yes I am also offering them Free & YES I DO scrutinize VERY carefully, but if you notice you are the only one who has replied so far LOL!!......I actually thought of you when i made the Post as you mentioned when having seen Jeannies´ new boy Blake that you had never had such a Mottled Gerbie before, I breed them regularly now, soon my Champion Extreme Mottled female will be in Breeding with the big "G" a/k/a Goliath, I should have some SUPER SUPER ExMo Siamese, but that won´t be for a while yet & if you want to see picky as to placement of those hopefully soon to be little wonders, you haven´t seen anything yet !! LOL
Also anyone else that may be interested in adopting animals that are currently available may have to "meet" my friend somewhere, I don´t know what she would be willing to do as far as an exact drop off/meeting point, that would take some arranging...I have done things like this before & usually require folks Call me via the Telephone before I will even take them seriously, I´m sure you personally wouldn´t well jerk us around, also I´m sure you would enjoy them! Also too some are just SO pretty, it is more important they find good homes, it seems folks here are pretty concientious towards their animals & therefore willing to work with me & assure me that they are VERY wanted.....Trust me even though I am offering them at No charge right now, I am still not getting scads of inquiring mail to even start scrutinizing! lol

Oh yes I will probably be able to extend this offer possibly only in the Summer due to transportation availability for the Gerbs.....Although there may be opportunity to do so in the fall as well, but that is very up in the air at this time.

>> I DO scrutinize VERY carefully, << Does this include a physical examination and a mental accuity test? Last time I had to have a medical exam the female doctor was too embarrassed to even check for a hernia! "Come on doctor. Don't be shy!". Maybe we should have gone out to brunch first. I know of no one personally I would trust with such gerbils. I have no room at the moment but likely will later, I guess.

LOL...I could fire up the OLD & I mean OLD Microscope I have as well !! LOL....Oh & there are ALWAYS rubber gloves & Tongue depressors to be had here as well LOL, never know if/when I´m going to have to deliver a Breach baby around here or possibly splint a leg, these things don´t happen often here at all but I must beprepared if need should arise!! lol

LOL....No just for my critters, and I love science, anatomy, kinseology all that stuff.....I sometimes have to act "quickly" to keep disaster from occurring & I like to be prepared!....plus I used to be BIG into Reptiles, this is when i aquired the Microscope, it was too old though for me to do my own fecal exams for them...I still have it though it is a NEET old thing LOL!! I´m actually having troubles with "Fibromialgia" myself these days, so I don´t have a "regular" type job.....Have a Book deal going right now though with Donna & I make wooden stuff for the animals which I sell, sometimes all decorated with Wood burned designs by me, SOOOOO CUTE!!....I also have Cages here for Chinnies on consignment from my Cagemaker, also made my own FF's Gerbil Food which has been doing pretty well selling to friends & well AGS members LOL...The food is pretty unique as it has more whole Grains in it than Seeds, also the seeds I do use include Flax seeds, VERY rich in Omega 3 GREAT for FUR, this stuff makes Gerbies SOOOOOO soft, puts on nice muscle rather than getting most gerbies too fat, grows up babies at an excelled rate as well seeing as it has more things they can easily eat, unlike commercial diets....This is my job right now LOL!!

Interesting indeed. Omega 3's I heard are good for fur - and skin? I have a dwarf hamster who sometimes loses fur and shows dry skin. Fish oil - oral and topical - seemed to help.
Flax seeds for mature gerbils with no babies? Not too fattening? I know most people (and critters) get fat from refined carbohydrates, and that the fats in such as flax and nuts are good, beneficial fats.
Fish oil is very good for the heart, as you know. I know a lot about alternative supplements and treatments. Many years ago when both parents were dying medical science could do ZILCH for them, so I started looking at alternatives. My mom was unable to really take much (Parkinsons; unable to swallow; food pump in stomach) and my father was just a pain in the neck; uncooperative. So I never really got much results. But I've been pumping the stuff into me ever since, and it works: I feel great - and no one would think I am actually 75!! LOL
Got any photos of your cute wooden stuff?

Hi , Yes I do have some pics of my Wooden stuff,I´ll fish them out & send ya some pics... I should take more though & make up some new stuff, I´m determined to make Gerbil "swings" lol I agree on the Supplements I should take a bunch of them myself, it gets REALLY expensive though to treat fibromialgia with alternative medicine, then I have issues remembering to give them to myself, I´d be better of being one of my own Pets LOL The Flax sure would make them fat if too much were included in the Mix, i think I have that part down pat pretty well though, I have had feed back from one lady who has been feeding my mix now for 7 months I think?...She was famous for Fat Gerbils & wrote me that her fat adults had dropped 15% of their body weight on the Mix & were all looking nice & Sleek & SHINY, also she mentioned the Pups were doing AWESOME on it as it is easier for them to eat the Grains & she no longer had to make her "baby mix" in addition to the Food she was regularly feeding.

But you sure look healthy enough! I know, it doesn't show. Maybe I'll ask more elsewhere. You have a mix? Have a recipe?
