they are SO cute!
At least mice don't live real long lives or have to all live seperetly (well some males) otherwise it would be alot of rehoming. Looks like two litters, have you found the Dad?

Three! They were found! haha The mice are indeed social, so they can stay together unlike syrian hamsters, although I will have to do a better job at sexing in three weeks. Usually, I am pretty good at it. Oddly, months went by with no babies even though there was no change in the population of the tank and all the mice were already "old enough".

Interesting how such a discovery would be a crisis for someone else, but for you it's just a day in the life. . .

A crisis would have been a pregant Syrian. They have to be separated at 8-9 weeks. And you know I've done that too. I can handle it. I now have 16 rats here. I told Susan to take the rats off the adoption website; they are now my guys, pets. And that is OK.

I've been lable that a couple times.

Susan had no problem with long term fosters of rodents, who were not her thing - she loves birds and reptiles, especially iguanas; she woke up in bed with one (who I guess was cold - or horny!).
I just fed the rats warmed tortilla shells coated with warm ranch dressing; they loved it!

Hmmm, I wondered if...errr, WHEN that would happen I'd be a disaster at fostering. Either they're mine, or they ain't!! Linda

Susan, the rescue adoption person I have often mentioned (from http://www.scarnyc.org), made it clear that adoption affairs acan be melancholy and are not for everyone, especially if those not adopted out go back to a shelter that is NOT no-kill. Even those adopted out I'd worry about. But see the new thread in the Memorial section (and Rat) by Moshev (Moses). He has two of my rats - and they appear to be living in luxury!

I've noticed myself getting very attatched to Mittens and Ebony allready, I don't want any more bunnies, but then there is a good chance that no one will want a handicap bunny, so they may just stay here a long, long time

Lucky bunnies! Maybe we should adopt out only animals we respect but don't love, reptiles for example. I can't get attached to them emotionally, although some do.
