Ferrets!!! They are so cute and playful. Are you fostering them and what are their names?

I don't know their names. I am fostering them for two weeks until their next foster home can take them. They are three older girls, VERY tiny and full of trouble! LOL.... They were neglected/abused and taken into foster care, so they have some weight to put on, and have hair missing and a dull coat. But they are lively and getting healthier looking. They love Whizzer, but don't seem to understand they are not allowed to bite the dog when they are playing! So one ferret in particular has to have 'time outs' regularly. Whizz enjoys them and though she doesn't understand they want her to play with them, she enjoys just watching them. We've had a few bathroom accidents, but they are getting better. Their stools are very runny but it's probably stress related from moving. They are allot of fun, but allot of work also. I have them upstairs as all my other critters are kept downstairs. Trying to ferret proof has been difficult, as these girls are so small they can squish under/through anything, it's crazy. Ryan has really enjoyed having them, he's always rough housing with them. but I won't be to sad when they go, as they are allot of work, and their litter boxes are pretty smelly Yup, i like bunnies LOL

As usual, kudos to you for taking on more and different fosters! And yes, you're allowed to say that you'd rather have bunnies! From what I know of both, I'd vote for the bunny too!

Very interesting. Whizz got bit?? How does she react? Are there any small animals she dislikes?? Good luck with the ferrets. Maybe some day you will foster one of their cousins - a wolverine. BTW, a few weeks ago on TV I saw an amazing escape of a ferret who squeezed through the bars of a rabbit cage. So be warned!

I watched one of these girls squish through the square holes in the door of my rabbit carrier! It was amazing! I had to borrow a carrier with super small holes. When the ferret tries to bite Whizz she tries to get away from them, and then it's time for Mom or Dad to save her and tell the little ferry "No". No broken skin yet, but still I don't want it to come to that, it's not fair to Whizz if they can bite her and she can't bite them back. Whizzer loves all animals (except dogs) so far. As for the wolverine, uh nope, no room... unless it's the X-Men kind Hello Hugh Jackmen hehehehe

And on a serious note one wouldn't want a wolverine in their house anyway as they are fierce creatures. It is recommended to just give them what they want and turn around and calmly leave.
Now back to Andrea's topic.....

TWAJ about the wolverine.
Why can't Whizz give them a nip?
I once held a ferret. They supposedly smell like popcorn. (?)
They have extremely flexible spines.

I do not encourage my dog to bite/nip. It's a bad habbit, and she could seriously hurt an animal as small as a ferret.
Popcorn? hhmmm they smell like a ferret to me LOL.... They sure are flexable, if they can fit their head through something, they can squish their body through, it's amazing.

I know that was a joke, but I still had to say that. Everyone jokes around at Paws saying that Al should be renamed Slinky cause they can move their body around so easily.

The stinky Ferrets are GONE! They were way to much work for me. One ot two would have been ok, but three, wow what trouble they can make. They also made my house smell like a cat box (eeewww). Yesterday I delivered them to their Foster home and well as picked up another critter for me home.... more on that later
