Back when Critter was alive I bought an exercise ball for her. She basically sat there and tried to chew it. So I put it away for a couple years. I pulled it out again for Pinky. He too attacked the plastic. So away again it went for another couple of years. Tonight I decided to see what Fuzz thought of it. He LIKES it! I am so excited! He rolled all over the kitchen. Whee!

My childhood hamster loved his also. I have 1 out of 3 gerbils usually who like it, others will just sit in it as use it as a toilet (yuck). But the ones I've had that liked it got So good at it, they could stop on a dime, and moved around things in their way. Must feel like less of a waste of money now eh? LOL

Lol. ;D
I know when Sophie had the exercise ball, she would go everywhere in it. And then rest for awhile to either rest or chew on it. One time I couldn't hear her as I shut the doors so she wouldn't go in the living room cause no one was here but me, so I went to check up on her. Yikes! She was out of her ball and about to roam around! I had to tape up the ball and I think she was a bit fed up. Basically like, "Blast, I have to cut into this thing again!" It was funny! Then I had to get a new one.

I have made more room recently and I will give the ball another try. We shall see; I do have to get them more exercise sometimes.

My hamsters have loved their exercise balls. My previous hamster, Arthur, was a speed demon, running circles around the dining table in it. Now I have Porco Bruno, who mostly just wanders around in it, sniffing things. Actually, last night he got hold of some dressmaker's bias tape, pulled a loop of it inside the ball, and took off across the floor with the bias tape unrolling behind him.

The times you need a video camera handy. How cute.

Did I mention I found an agouti mouse inside Cayden's CT2 cage? The mouse is gone now, Havahart trap set. A few years ago Jeannie has a similar situation; the posts I think are still up.
Basila got loose today - two hours later she was in he Havahart! That thing is so useful!!

Got another today - Basila. a big Syrian, was given play time in the bathroom. She squeezed out and disappeared in the bedroom. I knew she'd want to go back so I put the Havahart along the route she came in. Three hours later there she was - a little wet though from pee I guess; it is a bit small for her.
