Okay as you all know I really want a hamster before the end of this year. I've decided to only get one, but two is still in my head. I've looked up different sites that would have hamsters, as I really want a baby syrian. I found about two different websites that have hamster babies, but I have to choise only one. The great thing about both of them is that they're in NJ either Southern or Central. But my question to all of you is, which one do you think looks good? 1) www.geocities.com/emhamstery/intro.htmlOR 2) www.geocities.com/hamsterman102/M_MsHamstery.htmlI'm still deciding too, but I thought I'd ask all of my friends too. I've already picked out a girl & boy name for them too. Thanks guys!

Neither site is particularly complete or up to date. Litters from 2004?? I think you should arrange to talk to a real live person from each rather than deciding on the basis of a website. I emailed the M&M Hamstery last year sometime to ask if they knew of anyone who bred Chinese hamsters. They never responded.

When I first started looking for gerbils years ago I contacted many AGS listed breeders in the NYC area. Rarely did I get a response; the one I did get six from lived far away in Nassau county and we had a long trip just to meet half way. That was Crystal, Chrissie, Cliffy, Dill, Tommy, and Phil. All in the Memorial Photo Gallery now. As for the sites, all I can do is judge which has the better webmaster.

I noticed too that both sites seemed a little out-dated. Both do have nice looking hamsters however. I would get in touch with them by phone or email to see if they're still breeding. It might just be that they're just very busy and the website is at the bottom of the priority list.

Thanks guys! I was going to e-mail both of them when we get back from Florida. I didn't notice it was out-of-date, thanks for that. The one that says they're located in Central NJ. I hope it's not far. I don't drive, so I would hate to ask one of my parents or Josh to drive 2hrs just for a hamster. If you know what I mean. Well, I'll keep looking at both of them. Those are the only two I could find. I found one, but the owner is giving them away before May 31st & we'll be gone by then. More were in N. NJ, Albany, NY (way out of the way!), and then in other states. So those two were like a Godsend basically.

Would you ask them to drive an hour and a half? That's about how far it would be. From the phone number the hamstery is in Plainfield or thereabouts. (I was curious to know where it was, so I did a reverse phone number search on the number--that's how I know that it's Plainfield.) I would think that the Philly hamstery would be closer to you. But some people don't like to drive in Philly. It's too bad that you don't drive--'cause then you wouldn't have to worry about whether your family thought "just a hamster" was worth a long trip.

Where's Plainsfeild? *goes to check*
Yes, I know. I wasn't interested at all for driving & I think I would be a nervous wreck on the road. But I know someday I will have my driver's license if I have children one day. Well, my Mom won't mind driving that far to get the hamster.
Thank you for checking pinky! I probably will end up going to M&M's Hamstery cause it is a lot closer!
